Bovada Casino review: big published bonus terms, three different game counts
Bovada Casino is the casino side of the offshore book that says it has taken bets since December 2011. It publishes its bonus weighting, its max bet and its withdrawal limits, which most offshore casinos don't. It doesn't publish who runs it or which studios make its games, and it can't agree with itself on how many slots it has.
- Best for
- A slots player outside the restricted states who funds in crypto and wants to read the bonus weighting and payout limits before depositing.
- Not for
- A live-dealer or blackjack player who wants a bonus to work on his game, or anyone in one of the 19 restricted states or DC.

Is Bovada Casino legit?
It's the same house as the Bovada sportsbook, on the same account and the same cashier, so most of what I'd say about the book holds here. The footer says Bovada.lv "is licensed and regulated by the Union of the Comoros and the Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara", and the terms are governed by the laws of Anjouan. The About page dates Bovada to December 2011. The terms set the age at 18 and shut out 19 states and DC, and an account used from one of them can have its balance voided.
What it doesn't state is who "the Company" is. No name, no address, no licence number on any page I read. The terms also say that when you play a game you consent to Bovada "making arrangements for you to play such Games ... with an operator other than us", which is a polite way of saying the games run on someone else's servers. The fairness page says Bovada uses a random number generator and stops there: no testing lab, no certificate. I'd want a lab's name before I took "fair" on trust.
The games
The lobby is big, and I'd believe that much. Which number to believe is harder. The casino page says "over 1,000 different casino slots", its own FAQ lower down says "currently over 470", and the welcome bonus page and the About page say over 300. (Three counts on one site usually means three writers in three different years.) The same page counts 48 table games, 17 blackjack games, 10 roulette games, 8 video poker games, 7 bingo games and over 60 specialty games, plus Plinko, crash games and its own "Originals".
No page names the studios that make the games. If you care whether a slot comes from a maker that publishes its return figures, open the game's help screen and look for the RTP before you play it; the RTP guide says what that number means and what it doesn't.
Live dealer runs day and night, says the site, with blackjack (VIP tables included), roulette and game-show titles. You pick your table limit: $1-$300 on European roulette for a casual player, $10-$3,000 on the same game for a bigger one. The live dealers guide covers how those tables work. The page offers both American and European roulette, and the single zero is the one to play: 2.70% house edge against 5.26% on the double-zero wheel, as the house edge page works out.
How it pays
Casino winnings come out through the same cashier as the sportsbook. Withdrawals go by crypto, vouchers, MatchPay, check by courier or bank wire. Bitcoin runs $75 to $9,500 a request and $90,000 a week, Litecoin $10 to $9,500 and $180,000 a week, and Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Tether are capped at $2,500 a week. Requests are reviewed in about 24 to 48 hours, and Bovada charges no fee on crypto. Checks cost $100 each.
Two rules matter more to a casino player than a bettor. Every deposit must be wagered in full before you withdraw winnings. And card deposits after the first carry fees of 15.9% or more, which is a worse edge than any game on the floor.
The casino bonus, worked out
The standard offer is 100% up to $1,000 on your first deposit, then two more at 100% up to $1,000, for $3,000 in all. The crypto version is 125% up to $1,250 on each of three deposits. Both carry a 25x rollover on deposit plus bonus, except the second and third crypto bonuses, which carry 50x. Bonus funds can't be played on live dealer, and live dealer and craps count for nothing toward the rollover. The weighting table counts slots at 100%, table games at 20%, blackjack and video poker at 10%, roulette and baccarat at 5%, double-deck blackjack at 2%. Max bet while a bonus is live is 20% of your deposit.
Here's the arithmetic. Deposit $1,000 and take $1,000, and you owe $50,000 in slot play. Bovada doesn't publish its slots' returns, so say the games you play return 96%: the house keeps about 4% of that $50,000, roughly $2,000 on average, against a $1,000 bonus. At a 97% game it's about $1,500. Either way the bonus costs more than it gives, and on blackjack at 10% weighting you'd need $500,000 of hands. The 50x crypto reloads are twice as steep. I'd skip it. The rollover page shows the method and the bonuses guide explains why the face value misleads.
Who it's for
Bovada Casino suits a slots or table player outside the restricted states who funds in crypto and plays with his own money. Whether you may play at all depends on where you live, so check that first. Then set a loss figure for the session before you sit down, and use the responsible gambling tools if you want the house to hold you to it. I'd make the first withdrawal a small one, in Litecoin, and time it.
