Week 8 Three Team Teaser
Joe Berra here helping you get your Week 8 NFL Sunday started. With nine early games, including the third and last 2015 International Series game in London, we are guaranteed some great games with 5 divisional matchups on the schedule. I see huge potential for winning bets, and I’m going to take advantage with a three team teaser (6 point).
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta comes into this game a surprising 6-1 and 3-0 at home; matching their 6 wins from a year ago. Two of those six wins in 2014 came at the hands of divisional foe Tampa Bay (2-4, 1-2 Away), scoring 56 points in their last matchup at home. The Falcons are 7-3 in their last 10 versus the Bucs, and have won four of the last 5 played at home.
Perhaps most surprising for Atlanta has been the play of running back Devonta Freeman who leads the league with 621 rushing yards and ten touchdowns (9 rushing, 1 receiving). The second year back from Florida State has been one of quarterback Matt Ryan’s favorite targets as well, catching 34 of his 44 targets for 310 yards. Freeman’s 931 yards from scrimmage are over 150 yards more than DeAndre Hopkins who is second at 776.
Atlanta is currently a 7-point home favorite; take them at -1 in this 3 team teaser.
Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns
The Arizona Cardinals (5-2, 2-1 Away) travel to Cleveland (2-5, 1-2 Home) to play a Browns team that is unsure who will be behind center to start the game. Even though Johnny Manziel is not expected to be disciplined following a domestic incident on October 12th, Browns coach Mike Pettine isn’t saying who will start with Josh McCown questionable.
It won’t be easy for whoever does start, as the Cardinals ball-hawking pass defense ranks seventh overall allowing 224 yards/game. With the Browns near the NFL cellar rushing for only 90 yards per game, it will be a long day for a Cleveland team that has lost 4 of its last 5.
The Cardinals are the road favorite at -5½, take the Cardinals (+6) for +½ for our winning 3 team parlay.
Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Game of the Day sees divisional AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals (6-0, 3-0 Away) make the 300 mile journey to Heinz Field to try to keep their perfect season alive against the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3, 2-1 Home). Odds makers couldn’t decide who they liked in this one, so it’s a pick em’ going into Sunday.
Andy Dalton looks to have finally taken that necessary step forward, coming into Sunday’s game with the fourth most passing yards per game at 294. He has been spreading the ball around as 3 Bengals have more than 300 receiving yards. A.J. Green leads the way with 531, followed by Tyler Eifert with 342 and Marvin Jones at 321.
The Steelers get a boost with the return of Big Ben, but so will a Cincinnati defense with the return of linebacker Vontaze Burfict who has been sidelined for a year with a knee injury. Unfortunately for the Steelers, Roethlisberger has struggled when returning from injury, scoring less than 16 points/game going 2-4 in his first game back.
Take the Bengals +6 to complete our 3 team teaser.
