Ultimate Sports Weekend
By: Joe Berra
As we get going with a busy weekend in the sports world, it’s time to get your accounts reloaded at America’s Bookie and start making yourself some bank before March Madness gets going. We have a busy weekend in the NBA with ten games tonight highlighted with the Cavaliers trying to get on track having lost three of their last 5. Then there are eight games Saturday and seven on Sunday with the National ABC broadcast featuring first vs last as the Warriors visit the Lakers.
The NHL has a light night tonight with only three games on tap with an eleven game slate on Saturday. We have a great Pacific divisional matchup in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon when they host the upstart Anaheim Ducks for the division lead. The Ducks were the disappointment of the league to start the year, but have since moved into a tie with the Kings for the division and fourth in the conference.
We also have the College Basketball’s Championship Week, with several teams vying for a spot in the tournament. There’s way too much for me to get into when it comes to college basketball scenarios, but we all know we’re in for some of the best sporting action of the year. Have a look at America’s Bookie; they have more than 25 NCAA Basketball games tonight alone.
A buddy of mine traveled to Las Vegas this weekend just to take advantage of the great sports action there. The question is will he remember any of it?!? The action will get going on Saturday night when UFC 196 has Irishman Conor McGregor set to meet Nate Diaz in the octagon. We saw sparks fly at the weigh-ins and I expect some bad blood between these two heavy punchers. McGregor is the heavy favorite at -600 with Diaz at +400.
Vegas is also the site of the Kobalt 400 for all you NASCAR fans with Kevin Harvick the favorite to repeat as champion. The odds are yet to be posted for this one, but keep it locked on the best offshore sportsbook for up to the minute updates.
We can’t forget about Grapefruit and Cactus League play as the major leaguers are getting limbered up for the season. I don’t put much merit into MLB spring training, but it’s still nice to see your team’s pitchers punching out batters and your big guns blasting homers. I avoid betting on these games, but if the matchups are right, there is a chance of picking the winner. With opening pitch less than a month away, the Cubs are the favorite to win the World Series at +450 with the last years AL East basement dwelling Red Sox second at +700. The Blue Jays (+800), Nationals (+850), Giants (+850) and Dodgers (+850) round out the top six.
If you’ve followed through and read this until the end, you’re in luck. I’m going to leave you with my pick of the night…a sure winner for those of you in need of one. Take the NHL Grand Salami UNDER 16½.
Following Sunday’s NFL conference championships, bettors now know that the NFC’s San Francisco 49ers will face the AFC’s Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV. The game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Kickoff on FOX is set for 6:30 p.m. and the Chiefs have been opened as Read More…
Both the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers have long histories of great success in the NFL. The Packers were, of course, the winners of the first two Super Bowls and have won four total. The 49ers dynasty ruled the late 1980s and early 1990s and the franchise owns five Lombardi Trophy awards of Read More…
The Kansas City Chiefs get a shot at redemption. Wait, they get a chance at double redemption! A year ago, the Chiefs hosted the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game only to let the Super Bowl dream slip away in overtime. With a little better defense and a little less offense than a Read More…
