Two Team Tuesday Teaser

By: Joe Berra

I’m only now just starting to get over my Super Bowl hang over. Mix Super Bowl Sunday in Costa Rica with me winning more money than I know what to do with, and we’re destined for disaster. If you missed it yesterday, I nailed my picks for Super Bowl and the Waste Management Open.

Even though I spent a shit ton of it already on drugs and hookers, my America’s Bookie account is loaded and ready and it’s time to put it to good use. I’m going to start my week off with a Two Team Tuesday Teaser with a couple NBA games.

San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat

I’m going to start my teaser off with the San Antonio Spurs (43-8, 33-18-0 ATS, 24-25-2 O/U) traveling to South Beach to play the Miami Heat (29-23, 26-25-1 ATS, 17-34-1 O/U) at American Airlines Arena. Basketball odds makers at America’s Bookie currently have the Spurs a 7½-point road favorite with the total at 193½.

These two stand in 1st and 2nd in the NBA in opponents points per game with the Spurs (91.5) allowing 4+ points less than Miami and Utah (95.9). There are a couple other notes to point out; one being that the Spurs aren’t only sporting the top defense, but they are also top 5 in points per game with 104.9. On the other end of the spectrum, the Heat have the exact amount of points for as against (95.9) and puts them just above the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA cellar.

The Spurs are getting back on track winning their last four after losing 2 out of three to end January. All 8 of San Antonio’s losses have come on the road with a 15-8 mark away from the AT&T Center. The Heat last played and lost at home to the LA Clippers on Sunday to give them a 16-10 record there.

The last four times these two have played resulted in an UNDER finish with San Antonio winning the past five both SU and ATS. As well, the last 10 times the Spurs and Heat played each other, the favorite is 7-3 ATS and playing to the UNDER in 15 of the past 21 meetings.

Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks

The second part of my Tuesday Teaser will feature the Milwaukee Bucks (20-32, 25-26-1 ATS, 28-24 O/U) hosting the Boston Celtics (31-22, 30-22-1 ATS, 25-28 O/U) at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The Celtics sit in 3rd in the Eastern Conference and 2nd in the Atlantic while the Bucks are last in the Central and 13th in the East.

After losing seven of 12 to start January, the Celtics have won their last four and nine of 10 including a big 104-103 win in Cleveland against the East leading Cavaliers on Friday. The end of January/beginning of February hasn’t been kind to the Bucks, losing their last five and seven of their last 8.

Boston is top 10 in both opponents points per game and points for per game scoring 105/game (5th) and allowing 110.7 (10th). The same can’t be said for Milwaukee who is 25th in scoring (97.8) and 20th in points against (102.9). The Celtics are currently a 4½-point road favorite with the number at 208½ at the best offshore sportsbook.

My Tuesday Two Team Teaser will look like this; San Antonio Spurs -3½ (B+4) and Boston Celtics -½ (B+4). Be sure to get this one in quick as the lines are moving fast today.
