Thursday Three Team Special Teaser
Joe Berra back in the saddle after a Wednesday to myself to reflect on what has been a disaster in recent weeks. For those of you familiar with Costa Rica, San Jose in particular, it’s a place where your wildest dreams can become reality. Last night, I’m looking for a wing man, but no one’s manning up to check out the talent at the Del Rey.
So I throw on some cologne and head over myself. I waste some coins in the slots then head over to the blackjack table…I turn a $100 into $500 quickly. Of course, I collect my winnings and take a walk around to see who I’ll blow my first wad on. After a quick conversation, up to the room we go! My god she was good…my luck has changed people!!! To take advantage of my new found mojo, I’m jumping head first into a three team special teaser.
Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals
Week 9 in the NFL gets going tonight with the Browns visiting the Bengals in an AFC North divisional matchup. If recent TNF trends continue, we should see some points put up with all but one of the 8 previous Thursday night game totals going 43 or over, with three over 50.
I’m not a big Johnny Football fan, but it seems coach Mike Pettine is, saying he’s a lot more confident in him this year as opposed to last. I don’t know how high of praise that is, Manziel played in five games last year recording 18 completions on 35 attempts for 175 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He has been somewhat better this year, but with an improved Bengal defense and a banged up Brown defense, the Browns won’t be able to keep up.
Check out my Tuesday article on a two team parlay for this game for a more in-depth analysis of why I’m taking Cincinnati to start this three team special teaser.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Chicago Bulls
Ten days into the NBA season, both of these teams are 3-2 but have seen their fair share of struggles. After winning their first two to open the season against the Cavaliers and Nets, the Bulls have dropped two of their last three. They allowed 130 points to the previously winless Charlotte Hornets most recently, the most points they allowed since Utah dropped 132 on them in 2010.
Now they have to contend with the high scoring OKC Thunder, who has averaged 114.2 points so far this season, which ranks them second in the NBA behind the reigning champion Warriors. OKC haven’t been without their own problems though, giving up second half leads in losing back to back games. They went into the fourth quarter with an 81-73 lead last night versus the Raptors and had a 65-54 halftime lead in Houston on Monday.
With the problems Chicago are having on defense to go along with the Thunders ability to score, and the expectations of Derrick Rose breaking out of his slump, expect a high total and go with the OVER for the second part of this three team special teaser.
Charlotte Hornets at Dallas Mavericks
The Hornets are coming off a big win in Chicago on Tuesday, their first of the season, going off for 130 points. Before that, they lost a home-and-home against the Hawks and their season opener to the Heat. They will look to keep to their winning ways against a Dallas team that has been wildly inconsistent to start the year.
The Mavericks have averaged 107 points in their 2 wins while averaging only 90.5 in their 2 losses. Both of these teams are giving up around 100 points per game and scoring close to 100, so take the OVER in this one to complete this teaser.
In short; yes! They are for real, although they have had their share of struggles along the way this first half of basketball they are clearly a team to beat in the Eastern Conference and their new star has played a whopping five minutes of the entire season. That’s right, their great “white hope” Gordon Read More…
