Like most, I’m rooting for the Browns, but they just seem to find a way to lose every week. Hopefully they have their kicker situation sorted after having 3 or 4 chances to put the game away in New Orleans last week and as well in Week 1 vs. the Steelers.
The Jets looked great in Week 1 against the Lions, with Jet fans having reason for optimism with Sam Darnold under center. They came back to life last week getting beat at home by the Miami Dolphins 20-12, but with a good defense and an up and coming offense, there is reason to be optimistic.
These two teams have played 9 times, the first coming in 2002 and the last coming in Week 8 last season. They met in Cleveland last year where the Browns opened as a 2.5-point favorite but closed at PK. The Jets won 17-14, staying well UNDER the total of 41.5. In the nine games, the UNDER is 5-4.
The Jets are 6-3 both SU and ATS in their meetings against the Browns, and are 5-0 SU and ATS their last 5 times playing in Cleveland. Worth noting, the favorite is 8-0 ATS the last times these teams met.
This is a tough one, and I’m just hoping for a good game for this week’s Thursday action. I will be looking at the player prop bets in this one, betting on the Jets defense, however, I’ll go with the Jets ATS in this one.
