Before I get started, on behalf of everyone at Ask the Bookie, I want to extend a very Happy New Year to all of our fans. Everyone here wishes that 2019 is the best yet. We’ll be here all year long helping it be your most successful betting year yet.
It’s a great day to be nursing a hangover, with 5 great college bowl games on the schedule today. The Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs close out the day from the Big Easy in the Sugar Bowl.
Some felt the Bulldogs should have had a playoff spot instead of the Sooners, and if they had held on to their 28-14 second half lead against the Tide in the SEC Championship game, we may be writing about them in the College Football National Championship game next Monday.
Between their losses to LSU and Alabama, the Bulldogs beat teams like the Florida, Kentucky and Auburn, allowing an average of only 18.4 points in the 5 wins.
The Longhorns suffered a loss in their last game as well, a 39-27 defeat at the hands of the Sooners in the Big 12 Championship game. The Longhorns suffered back to back losses to Oklahoma State and West Virginia, eliminating them from playoff consideration.
This game opened at Georgia -11.5, but was quickly bet up to 12.5 before taking a quick move to 10.5. It moved all the way back up to -13 on December 14th, and eventually moved back to 11.5, where it is today.
Georgia are the better team in all three phases of the this one and I’m taking the Georgia Bulldogs -11.5.

Normally, this wouldn’t be a sexy game and we’re not saying that it’s a sexy game today, but we do like the curb appeal the Oakland A’s are giving their fans. Don’t look now, but this team comes into the three-game set with a 53-41 record and having won 8 of their last 10 games. Read More…
