Online Sportsbooks NFL Parlay Boosters
One of the more popular bets at online sportsbooks for football is the parlay. This is the ultimate risk/reward bet when it comes to betting two or more games, and now we will talk about Online Sportsbooks NFL Parlay Boosters. Most online books will allow bettors to group together as many as 15 games into one single parlay wager. Each pick that is part of any parlay needs to win to keep this type of bet alive. The only exception is if a game ends as a PUSH on the betting spread.
Parlays are a tough bet to cash even when you are betting just two games, but the added reward in the payout odds continues to lure bettors their way. The standard payout on a two-team parlay is 2.6-to-1. The odds jump to 6-to-1 for a three-team play and to 11-to-1 for a four-team parlay.
As an added incentive during football season and especially for Sunday’s NFL games are parlay boosters. This is when the online sportsbook will enhance the payout odds for taking a certain grouping of teams. For example, there may be a two-team city parlay booster in play for the grouping of the New York Jets and the New York Giants plus or minus the points. The payout on that pairing may be boosted to +275 or 2.75-to-1.
The parlay boost could be extended to three teams with a Florida play on the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Jacksonville Jaguars at an enhanced return of +625 or 6.25-to-1.
Most parlay boosters are limited to two or three teams. While they do offer better value in the slightly higher return, they also lock you into a specific bet. The best way to bet parlay boosters is to shop them at any book that has these types of bets on the board. You may come across a grouping that matches your picks for that day. The teams will usually have something in common with one other. While geography is always a popular grouping, sometimes it could be the starting time of the games.
The early bird special could be three 1 p.m. games. You can usually find a late-Sunday afternoon pairing of two to three teams. You might find a two-team parlay booster for a Sunday FOX or CBS broadcast doubleheader. While there are any number of ways to group together certain teams, the trick is to find a grouping that makes the most sense in light of your actual handicapping efforts.
Online books are dictating the bet in a parlay booster which automatically gives them an edge. Certain games are grouped together for certain reasons. The books will be more than happy to offer enhanced odds if they feel the chances of that parlay actually hitting are low.
Betting parlays in general still hinge on quite a bit of luck. That is why you should employ one of two strategies.
- A low amount of teams (two or three) at a slightly higher unit play
- A high amount of teams (four or five) at a very low unit play
Any parlay more than five teams is a pure guess with an extremely low chance to win. Bettors also need to keep in mind that the more teams you add to any parlay play, the more the edge moves towards the books. The sweet spot for parlays is still just two or three games grouped together.
With the season of football in full swing around the corner, now is the time to start formulating a betting strategy for the games. It is not all that wise to go with a steady diet of parlay plays. However, there can be some added value to a parlay booster here and there.
