The Buffalo Sabres have to be the surprise of the National Hockey League so far this season, sitting in with 34 points, tied with the Maple Leafs with the second most point in the entire league, behind only the Lightning. They hit their home ice tonight in search of their 10th straight win when they host the San Jose Sharks.
The Sharks always have a well-balanced team, having made the playoffs in most years, but can never seem to crack the Cup winning code. They are currently 2nd in the Pacific with 28 points.
A telling stat is the profits from each teams moneyline wagers, with the Sharks at -562 and the Sabres profiting $1144. That’s a massive profit for a team that 62 points last year, 5 less than the second worst team last season.

The Sabres have been loving that home cooking so far too, and are 8-2-1 at home while the Sharks are only 4-5-2 on the road. Getting the Sabres as the underdog provides great value tonight, and that’s the direction I am going. If you follow my picks, you know I am all about value, and I will snatch it up whenever I can get it.
Not only are the Sabres getting solid production from their top line which includes Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner, they are also getting production from their second line. Their young Rasmus’ on defense are showing they belong in the league, and if they can continue to get great goaltending from Carter Hutton, this young Sabres squad could make a splash in the playoffs.

There are two ways in which to approach this game. One, you can bet against the Flyers, they have been pretty bad this year and they seem to have lost their heart completely. The other glaring reason to bet against them would simply have to be their record against the spread, it’s an abysmal-15-29. They Read More…
The Los Angeles Chargers traveled to Foxborough, Mass., on Sunday to face the dynasty known as the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. The Patriots entered the game as a four-point favorite and rightfully so. They have played in the last seven straight AFC championship games … and they played Read More…
