We have 10 games on the NHL schedule tonight, and my Free Pick is coming from Missouri when the St. Louis Blues host the Florida Panthers. The Panthers have lost back to back games after shutting out the Bruins last Tuesday while the Blues just got shellacked by the Canucks on Sunday 6-1.
The Blues are having trouble finding the back of the net, scoring a total of 8 goals in their last five games. The Panthers on the other hand have scored 4 or more in 3 of their last 4 games.
At the time of writing, Roberto Luongo and Jake Allen are the projected goalies which is great news for Florida fans. Jake Allen is currently 37th in the league with a 3.11 goals against average and 36th with a .900 save percentage.
In fairness, Luongo hasn’t been much better, sitting at 31st in GAA at 2.94 and 28th in save percentage at .906. Luongo has either been hot or cold, giving up 2 or less goals in 7 appearances and 4 or more in his other 5 appearances.
We have all your scores, lines, consensus and much more
The Blues are 3-8 SU in their last 11, and 1-5 SU in their last 6 home games. The total has gone OVER in 4 of the last five games when these two meet, but with the Blues scoring issues, I won’t be betting the total in this one, it’s just too much of a crapshoot.
Watch for the Panthers top line of Huberdeau, Barkov and Dadonov to keep it rolling tonight, with a little side of Mike Hoffman. I’m taking the Panthers on the road as the slight underdog.
NHL Free Pick: Panthers ML -105
