NHL Free Pick | Oilers at Hurricanes
I like the over in this game tonight. Some of you might be a little surprised right now. I’m sure you may be sitting there and thinking… Why is Will writing a hockey pick? He’s an NBA guy and never writes hockey picks. You’re right I usually don’t. So the fact I have a strong opinion about this one should tell you something!
Game: Edmonton Oilers (24-27-5, 23-33 ATS) at Carolina Hurricanes (29-22-6, 25-32 ATS)
When: 7:30 PM ET, Friday, February 15, 2019
Where: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina
Current Line: EDM +165 CAR -185 Total: 6
TV Coverage: Sportsnet West, FS Carolinas
Anyway, I’m going with the over and here are the numbers to back it up. The over is 9-0… that’s right… 9-0 in the Oilers last 9 games vs. a team with a winning record. They play really well against good teams. It is also 6-2 in their last 8 games vs. the Eastern Conference. I expect a lot of goals to be scored tonight.
Meanwhile, on Carolina’s side, the numbers are equally impressive. The over is 5-0 in the Hurricanes last 5 games as a home underdog. The over is also 5-1 in the Hurricanes last 6 games vs. the Western Conference.
I think basically every trend is pointing towards the over tonight and that’s what I’m rolling with.

Now look, I think it may be close. I don’t expect each team to drop 7 goals apiece, I’m not saying that. But I will not be surprised at all if one team alone scores 5 goals tonight.
Take the over, have fun watching the game, and root for a lot of goals to be scored! It should be a fun one to watch. Let’s hope I’m right here and that way maybe I’ll continue giving you guys some NHL picks. It’s a great sport that I enjoy watching and will always bet on games like this in which I have a strong opinion.

After a mostly uneventful PGA Championship last week when Brooks Koepka went wire-to-wire, the PGA heads back to Texas this week for the Charles Schwab Challenge. Both of these teams know who they will be playing should they win this series and both had better revel in the glory now because the glory will be in short supply moving forward. Sometimes in sports betting, it is time to put up or shut up. I have been touting the San Jose Sharks as the team to beat in the NHL’s Western Conference since the All-Star break. Things were looking pretty good through the first three games of their best-of-seven conference finals matchup against St. Louis with Read More…
