NHL Free Pick | Jets at Kings
Is it just me, or does everything seem off in the sports world lately? My awesome hippie friend Luna told me it’s because Mercury is in Retrograde, while my CNN watchin’, conspiracy theorist homie is blaming Trump. Whatever the reason…BE CAREFUL when placing your bets! Regardless, I have to give you guys a pick, so here it is.
Game: Winnipeg Jets (42-25-4, 29-42 ATS) at Los Angeles Kings (25-38-8, 35-36 ATS)
When: 10:30 PM ET, Monday, March 18th, 2019
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
Current Line: WIN -180 LA +160 Total: 6
TV Coverage: TSN3, FS West
The Los Angeles Kings are the worst home team with a league low 13 wins at Staples Center. They have 58 points, two more than the league worst Senators, they are 2-6-2 in their last 10, with those 2 wins being the only ones they have in their last 17. They had a 10-game losing streak in there too.
The Jets are tops in the Central, and are 18-16 away from Winterpeg. They are 5-5 in their last 10, but really haven’t played great hockey since the calendar turned to February. Since February 5th, they are 8-11.
The Jets are 6th in team scoring, scoring 3.39 goals per game, with the Kings 30th with 2.34. When it comes to goals against, the Kings are 10th allowing 3.15 GPG while the Jets are 18th with 2.96.

When looking at trends when these two play, the home team is 6-2 in their last 8 games, the UNDER is 4-1 in the last 5 and the Jets have only won 4 of their last 13 in LA.
On paper, the Jets should win this one by 2 or 3 goals, but f^%k conventional wisdom, I’m taking the home dog Kings tonight.

Yu Darvish takes the mound against 7-1 Walker Buehler, and the last time that Darvish took the mound in Chavez Ravine, was in Dodger Blue. We would love to say what a difference a year and a half makes, a fresh start, a new team, a new lease on life; wrong! For Darvish nothing has Read More…
