NHL Free Pick | Jets at Blue Jackets
Both of these teams are legitimate threats to make a deep run in the post season, however neither are asserting themselves at the moment. Today’s pick come from Columbus where the Blue Jackets host the Winnipeg Jets. Both teams need a win in this one after the Jackets lost 4-0 to Edmonton last night and the Jets needing a win last time out to avoid their third three-game losing streak in their last 12 games.
Game: Winnipeg Jets (38-22-4, 27-37 ATS) at Columbus Blue Jackets (36-25-3, 33-31 ATS)
When: 7:00 PM ET, Sunday, March 3rd, 2019
Where: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio
Current Line: WIN +100 CLB -120 Total: 6.5
TV Coverage: Sportsnet, FS Ohio
That’s right, the Winnipeg Jets have lost 8 of their last 12 games, including losing streaks of three games, three games and two games. Their lead atop the Central Division is shrinking more and more as the playoffs draw near with the Predators just 1 point behind (although the Jets do have 3 games in hand on them). Luckily for the Jets, the Preds have only won 4 of their last 10.
The BJs are currently on the outside of the playoffs looking in, 2 points behind the Pens and Habs for a Wild Card spot. However, they showed they were open for business by going out and acquiring Matt Duchene from the Sens at the trade deadline.
My biggest problem when capping this game tonight is goalies. Connor Hellebuyck was battling an illness on Friday, leading to an emergency backup goalie call-up, and his status for tonight is unclear at the moment.
Need a refresher on how to bet NHL games? We got you covered.
On the Blue Jackets side, goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has started 6 straight games, with backup Korpisalo starting only 1 of the BJs’ last 13 games. Bobrovsky gave up 4 goals in the first 2 periods last night, with Korpisalo between the pipes in the third, stopping all the shots he faced.
One of the goalies in this game is going to step up and deliver a stellar performance and keep this one under 6.5.
NHL Free Pick: Jets @ Blue Jackets UNDER 6.5

After a mostly uneventful PGA Championship last week when Brooks Koepka went wire-to-wire, the PGA heads back to Texas this week for the Charles Schwab Challenge. Both of these teams know who they will be playing should they win this series and both had better revel in the glory now because the glory will be in short supply moving forward. The Golden State Warriors have completed the sweep over Portland to make a 5th straight appearance in the NBA Finals. No Read More…
Sometimes in sports betting, it is time to put up or shut up. I have been touting the San Jose Sharks as the team to beat in the NHL’s Western Conference since the All-Star break. Things were looking pretty good through the first three games of their best-of-seven conference finals matchup against St. Louis with Read More…
