NHL Free Pick | Capitals at Maple Leafs
The Washington Capitals have had an up and down season to say the least and things seem to have graduated for the worse. Every time we think this team is showing signs of getting back to former greatness, they take a dump. They are taking a huge nose dive as of late and the six game losing streak speaks to the mess in which they find themselves. It happens! These streaks happen. Good teams always find their way back. The Capitals still have a boatload of talent and one of the best NHL players in a generation in Alex Ovechkin. Hang with the Cap’s, they will be fine!

The Toronto Maple Leafs enter this game with the same amount of angst, they are in a funk and desperately looking for a win. After losing their last two and going 3-7-0 in the last 10, this team is searching for answers.
Toronto forward Auston Matthews — “I think we’re going through some adversity as a team, and we want to get out of it as soon as possible, hopefully in the long run this is something good for us and we learn from it.”
Toronto is loaded with young talent, great NHL talent, and this team could be a powerhouse in the near future. They certainly started the season out right and looked like a powerhouse, but lately, not so much. This team will start winning when they forget about contracts, forget about money and focus on hockey. As any team in the NHL, the Leafs have dealt with their share of injuries including forward Andreas Johnsson, who will miss tonight’s game.
Good teams battle back, they overcome injuries and they find a way. Tonight features two good teams that both need a win. Who want’s it worse going into the All Star weekend? They both want this, they both need this and they will be scoring, looking to score, and fighting for goals. My money is on the over!
