NHL Free Pick | Blues at Wild
I was tempted to bet the OVER in today’s NBA All-Star game, but at 312, I’ll stick to the NHL. There are 6 games on the NHL schedule today, with a couple big games that might have meaning come April when the final playoff seedings are out. I’m taking a side in the matchup in Saint Paul when the Minnesota Wild host the St. Louis Blues.
Game: St. Louis Blues (30-22-4, 31-26 ATS) at Minnesota Wild (27-25-4, 23-35 ATS)
When: 3:00 PM ET, Sunday, February 17, 2019
Where: Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul, Minneapolis
Current Line: STL +105 MIN -125 Total: 5.5
TV Coverage: NBC, Sportsnet
With the running of the Daytona 500 today, here’s a great article on Finding the Best Online Sportsbook for Betting NASCAR.
After starting the year with seven L’s in their first 9 games, the Blues are currently riding a 9-game win streak and are winners in 13 of their last 16. They are holding down the third seed in the Central, and in position to make the post season.
The Wild would also be in the playoffs if they were to start today, sitting in the second and final Wild Card spot. They have four other teams breathing down their necks, within 3 points of them.
Minnesota have lost 7 of their last eight, and are on a 3-game losing streak, including a tough 5-4 OT loss at home to New Jersey on Friday night. They need to get straightened out, because this is not the time to go on a losing streak as we head into the final stretch of the season.

Blues rookie goalie Jordan Binnington has been nothing short of spectacular, vying for his eighth straight win today, which would set a franchise record for rookie goalies. Binnington is 11-1 with a stellar 1.69 GAA and .931 save percentage, including 3 shutouts.
With the current state of these two, along with their ATS records (Blues +2.7 units, Wild -14.2 units), I was tempted to take the Blues adjusted PL, but I’m taking the St. Louis Blues ML at +105.
NHL Free Pick: St. Louis Blues ML +105

After a mostly uneventful PGA Championship last week when Brooks Koepka went wire-to-wire, the PGA heads back to Texas this week for the Charles Schwab Challenge. Both of these teams know who they will be playing should they win this series and both had better revel in the glory now because the glory will be in short supply moving forward. The Golden State Warriors have completed the sweep over Portland to make a 5th straight appearance in the NBA Finals. No Read More…
Sometimes in sports betting, it is time to put up or shut up. I have been touting the San Jose Sharks as the team to beat in the NHL’s Western Conference since the All-Star break. Things were looking pretty good through the first three games of their best-of-seven conference finals matchup against St. Louis with Read More…
