Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts
The 2018 Indianapolis Colts are still trying to find their sea legs and it has been a struggle at times. Last week however, against the Eagles, these guys played their butts off and it almost rewarded them. They continued to do exactly what they so famously did last season; let the game get away from them in the waning moments. The outcome of the Eagles matchup paints a bit of a different story and the Colts at least walked away knowing they didn’t blow a 4th quarter lead. Although they were leading this game in Philly on a couple of different occasions, at least it was against the reigning world champions of football that got over on them.
Last season the Colts blew 9 games in which they had the lead. Now that Andrew Luck is back, he is supposed to be the savior of the world in the 317! So far, not terrible but nothing spectacular either. To this point, Luck has 85 completions on 124 attempts, with 662 yards, 5 TD’s and 3 INT’s, for an overall rating of 84.8. Unfortunately, Luck also has one turnover.
Now that Luck has three games under his belt and a near miss against the Eagles, the confidence should be in high gear. The Mechanics should be back and this team should be rolling against their rivals, the Texans. Frank Reich has doubled down on defense but the offensive line is still a work in progress. Andrew Luck must have time to throw or he is done, cooked, stick a fork in him. If he doesn’t get the kind of play he needs from his offensive line in Indy, then maybe it’s time for Andrew to start looking for a team that will appreciate his arm and appreciate some great quarterback instincts. Luck is a gamer and given the right set of circumstances, he will win a pile of football games. To say he is done, that’s a fallacy, a misnomer. This guy has a lot in the tank and he can be a winner, but he must have an efficient offensive line.
TY Hilton is still the weapon that he always was and will be the target of choice against the Texans backfield. Look for a big day from TY. Although Luck doesn’t need to feel pressure to win this game, he needs this win and he knows it. The Colts need this win as a team and now that they have a committed coaching staff, there are no excuses.
The Texans will not go down easily, however their season doesn’t feel right. The worst thing to have ever happened to them, happened to them last season, and that was losing Watson. The Texans were rolling at a record pace when he went down and it’s a shame, but it messed up the chemistry of this team. They have a lot of sorting out to do and the Texans look like they are discombobulated.
Prediction: Colts-1, (Parlay: Colts and Over 47) (6.5 point teaser with the Colts, Falcons and Eagles.) Round Robin—Colts/Falcons-Eagles/Raiders-Dolphins/Bears.
What is a Parlay? A parlay is a collection of two or more teams, in which you must win all of the games to win the game.
