Brady not playing in preseason opener:

In news that does not come as a surprise to many, Tom Brady will not play in the preseason opener Thursday against Green Bay. Brady has been dealing with court orders during training camp for his role in the deflategate scandal during the AFC title game. New England will turn to Jimmy Garoppolo to start, with Ryan Lindley looking like the second option for the Patriots. Brady was not present at Tuesday’s practice, as he was in New York City for the hearing. Head coach Bill Belichick has had a long going rule that says players will not play if they do not practice. New England will also be missing other guys for the game, such as Nate Solder and Sebastian Vollmer.

Buffalo claim Enemkpali:

The Buffalo Bills, who are led by Rex Ryan, in his first year since leaving the New York Jets have claimed defensive lineman I.K. Enemkpali. Enemkpali is most commonly known as the guy who sucker punched Geno Smith in the Jets locker room, knocking the quarterback out for up to 10 weeks this season. Enemkpali and Ryan have a history together, and the head coach has stated he feels he “deserves a second chance”.

Kansas City expects Berry to play:

The Kansas City Chiefs got great news from defensive back Eric Berry. Berry, who has Hodgkin Lymphoma is expecting to play in the preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Berry was diagnosed with it in November, and head coach Andy Reid was tickled to claim Berry is going to play. He says: “Listen, I am as happy as I can be for him. He’s like a kid out here playing. He’s having fun.”. Berry has been playing in the pre-season behind safeties Husain Abdullah and Ron Parker.

Colin Kaepernick denies fight with Aldon Smith:

The San Francisco 49ers have released defensive star Aldon Smith after yet another drunk driving charge. News earlier in the week came out that quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Smith had an altercation at Levi’s Stadium last week. The quarterback has recently denied that report. Kaepernick called out the report and called it “embarrassing”, and said him and Smith were “good friends” during his time in San Francisco. The 49ers are under new head coach Jim Tomsula. San Francisco had a lot of the pieces fall apart, and they failed to reach the postseason a season ago. The 49ers have a bunch of different pieces to their team this season, and are projected in the middle of the pack. San Francisco competes in the NFC West with the back to back NFC champion Seattle Seahawks.
