After starting the season with 2 wins, the Denver Broncos look more like who I thought they were, losing their last 3, including a 34-16 loss against the Jets last week. I said it last year, and it has been reaffirmed this year, it looks like being a National Football League head coach is a lot more than Vance Joseph can handle.
Case Keenum has not looked like the savior that Broncos fans hoped he would be, evidenced by the Broncos 26th ranked offense, scoring 20 points per game. Defense was supposed to be their strong suit, but it’s far from it giving up the 22nd most points per game (26.2).
Now for the good, which will all be on the Rams side. They are 5-0, coming off a hard fought 33-31 victory in Seattle last week. They are 3rd in offensive points scored per game at 34.6, and show their great all-around depth, ranking 7th in points against at 19.6.
A look at the league’s offensive stats shows Rams QB Jared Goff at the top with 1727 yards, as well as being top 3 in TD’s, completion percentage, yards per attempt and QB rating. On top of that, running back Todd Gurley is 3rd in rushing yards and two players, Brandin Cooks (7th) and Cooper Kupp (9th) in receiving yards.
Although Mile High can be a tough place to play, my power rankings have the Rams rated much higher than the 7-points the Broncos are getting. This one could get ugly, and perhaps the Rams will let their guard down in garbage time, letting the Broncos stay someone close, but I am comfortable giving the 7-points on the Rams in this late afternoon Sunday Week 6 matchup.
Free Pick: Rams -7
The Reds picked up a big win over one of the best teams in baseball last night, and definitely a team that comes in near or above the top-five in most power rankings. Last night was a close game and yet another run line loss by the Astros, who happen to be 38-34 against the Read More…
Throw out the fact that the San Francisco Giants are in last place in the National League West Division. The Giants-Dodgers rivalry is one of the best in baseball. The two teams meet for the fourth time this season beginning a four-game series on Monday night. If you think just because the Giants are in Read More…
Those of you that say there’s nothing to bet this time of year need to take a better look at your betting board. There’s a lot more than Major League Baseball, including other levels of baseball, NASCAR, boxing, MMA, about 200 soccer games every day, tennis and rugby, just to name a few. Today I’m Read More…
