NFL Free Pick - Patriots vs Bears

The Patriots and a Tom Brady led offense are scoring big numbers once again with 38, 38 and 43 points respectively in their last three. The New England Patriots are rarely desperate for anything and they are certainly not anywhere close to desperate now. However, they do need a road win and losing to the Bears will do nothing for their credibility, to win when it matters.

Week 7 NFL Football Line Movements

The Patriots are coming off a big win on Sunday against the Chiefs and they let it all hang out. It was a fun game that highlighted the last decade of why this team is so difficult to beat at Foxboro. Today’s game isn’t in Foxboro and there is one thing to be said, it doesn’t matter! The Bears have some playmakers and they are not a bad football team and at home, ok, they will certainly be motivated to take down Bill, Tom and the boys but again, none of this matters.

One things is absolutely true in the NFL and that’s the old adage that says, “any given Sunday” Again, none of the matters! Are you seeing a theme here? Every year it’s the same old tired thing with the Patriots, they stumble out of the game and look old, but as the season wears on, they look younger and younger and by the time the playoffs roll around, Tom Brady looks like he is 25. It really is a broken record. These guys get better with age. Why would Brady quit? He is still at the top of his game and he is winning. Almost nobody that was anybody went out winning. Peyton Manning was an exception to the rule but beyond Manning, many of the all-time greats went out losing. Tom Brady is still winning and until he slows noticeably and can no longer contribute, there is no good reason to leave the game.

The Bears come in to the game with a 3-2 record and want nothing more than to put the screws to New England, it’s not going to happen! They will be tough, they are not going to lay down but with Khalil Mack’s ankle injury, no, not going to happen. Look for the Bears to hang around and keep it close through the first half and who knows, maybe even be leading at halftime, then it’s reality check time and the patriots will do what they do best and they will be doing it all without Gronk.

Prediction: Patriots 27 Bears 17

Best Bet: Patriots -2, When will you ever see this again?

Round Robin: Patriots -2/Colts -7/Vikings -3.5/New Orleans +3/Washington +1/Cleveland +3.5
