NFL Early Free Pick | Cowboys at Colts
The Dallas Cowboys have won five straight games starting with the reigning champions of football, the Philadelphia Eagles, Falcons, Redskins, Saints and yet again, the Eagles. What the Cowboys have done is put an abysmal start behind them and turn this season around.
They come into this contest against the Colts with visions of clinching the NFC East with a win. Can it be done against a Colts team that is very much in the hunt and facing what amounts to be a “must win” game?
Yes, but it will not be easy. The Colts are coming off of an impressive win, on the road in Houston. The Colts managed to put together an impressive five game winning streak of their own and it all started against Buffalo and a 37-5 blowout. They went on to beat the Raiders, Jaguars, Titans and Dolphins before losing a stunner to the Jaguars, 6-0.
Colts All-Pro receiver, TY Hilton is questionable for this game and the latest report says, “game time decision”. Hilton is a playmaker, a difference maker, if he does not play, he will be missed. Knowing Hilton, he will play. If he does not play, then the problem is worse than thought and it’s a legit issue and he needs the rest. Hilton is a gamer and will be ready if asked to play. The question is, can the Colts beat the Cowboys without Hilton? Yes, but it won’t be easy.
The Colts win, based on the strength of the offensive line. The Colts have taken just 16 sacks all season and that’s second best in the league behind the Saints.
The Cowboys are scoring 21.2 points per game and allowing 18.9 to the Colts 26.8 points per game and allowing 23.1. The margin of error is five points. We know the Cowboys have played well, we get it and acknowledge that, and they have a host of playmakers such as Prescott, Elliott, and Cooper. At home, with Andrew, and a great offensive line, with or without TY Hilton; the Colts find a way.
