NCAAM Free Pick | Nebraska at Indiana
Nebraska Cornhuskers (12-4, 9-4-2 ATS) vs. Indiana Hoosiers (12-4, 8-8 ATS)
When: 6:30 PM ET, Monday, January 14th, 2019
Where: Assembly Hall, Bloomington, Indiana
TV Coverage: FS1
Current Line: IND -2.5 Total: 144
It’s difficult to be a Hoosier these days and it shouldn’t be. This team has got to be the most struggling team in history with a 12-4 record. As a matter of fact, with a 12-4 record, most teams would be very near the top of their conference, if not leading their conference.
Not in the BIG 10! The BIG 10 is always a battle, and at 12-4, the Hoosiers find themselves in 4th place. They have given up the last two consecutive games and one of them was to 17-0 and #2 in the country, Michigan, 74-63. The other was a tough loss to Maryland, 78-75.
The Hoosiers must refocus their efforts and get out of the doldrums, and fast. A win tonight will go a long ways to shoring up the confidence level going forward.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are also 12-4 and have beaten some very solid basketball teams along the way. However, they come into Bloomington having lost two of their last three and once again, Maryland was one of the culprits, 74-72, and #25 Iowa, 93-84.
Their last game and win, was back on the 10th against Penn State, 70-64. The Huskers have a very tough row to hoe going forward, they need this win tonight worse than the Hoosiers. They are looking at Michigan State, Maryland (again), Ohio State, Wisconsin, Purdue (twice), Michigan, Michigan State (again), and then Iowa. This is a brutal future, and things could easily fall off the rails.
Nebraska is scoring 79.3 PPG and allowing 61.4, while shooting 47.4% from the field with 36.3 RPG, along with 14.8 assists per game. The Hoosiers are scoring 77.3 PPG, allowing 65.6 and shooting 51.8%. The team is grabbing 35.6 RPG., and 14.7 assists.
Both of these teams are playing great defense and both are scoring neck and neck. This one will be close but we must give the edge to the home team with the hot-shooting hand.
NCAAM Free Pick: Indiana -2, buying the half point.
