NBA Free Pick | Warriors at Wizards
Sports are scanty tonight with only four games on the NBA schedule and the NHL getting the All-Star weekend started. College basketball has plenty action though, but I’m sticking with a total wager in the NBA when the Warriors travel to DC to pay the Wizards.
Game: Golden State Warriors (33-14, 21-25-1 ATS) at Washington Wizards (20-26, 20-26 ATS)
When: 8:00 PM ET, Thursday, January 24th, 2019
Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, District of Columbia
Current Line: WAS +10.5 Total: 235
TV Coverage: TNT, NBCS Bay Area (GS)
I’ve been going back and forth on the total in this one. 235 is a large total, but the Warriors are the top scoring team in the league averaging 118.7 points per game and the Wizards rank #9 with 113.
On the other side of the total equation, the Wizards are giving up the second most points per game at 115.8, with only the Hawks giving up more at 117.5. Golden State ranks #21 in this defensive category, allowing 111.9 PPG.
If you take into account league averages, you have to think the Warriors are going to pump in a minimum of 120 points, with a good change for them to hit 125. That leaves the Wizards having to score 111 for this one to go OVER.

In their last 5 games, GS game totals closed at 227 (O), 228 (O), 242 (O), 242 (U) and 233 (O). So you can see the Warriors have had no trouble doing their part paying out the OVER. The OVER is 8-2 in their last 10. In comparison, the Wizards total is 5-5 in their last 10.
After losing 9 of 11, the Wizards have won 7 of their last 10 SU and are playing some of their best basketball. We all know teams step it up against the Champs, and I expect both teams to be firing bullets tonight. Take this info and do what you want, but I’m going OVER.
