NBA Free Pick | Pelicans at Rockets
The Western Conference has taken a while to establish itself as the once again, dominate conference, however, it’s very clear that they are exactly that, the dominant conference. Of course, it doesn’t help anybody in the west considering the fact that Golden State has found themselves. We don’t think they were ever lost.
The Warriors are the Warriors and when a team has five legit superstars, they are eventually going to win a pile of games. That’s exactly what they are doing, winning… The Rockets find themselves in fifth place with a 29-20 record and have a three game winning streak going as they face the struggling Pelicans tonight in Houston.

The Pelicans have been decimated with injuries this season including the up and down play of their star, Anthony Davis. Without Davis they have nothing and the headline blasting news is that Davis is demanding a trade. This is toxic, it’s become a circus and the Pelicans are in trouble.
The Pelican are still scoring a pile of points per game with 116.6, however, they couldn’t play defense if it smacked them upside the head and called them Joe Dumars, Charles Oakley, and Patrick Ewing! These guys are giving up 115.1 points per night. That’s one point more than they are scoring—they are fortunate to have 22 wins on the season.
The Rockets are not much better defensively and they are giving up 110.7 points per night and letting it all hang with their offense. Now, they do have a lot of offense and Harden is having another superstar season. They come into this game scoring 112.2 points per game.
We have another NBA pick for tonight in Schwab’s Dogs Ready to Bite the Books weekly article, click here to read it.
Normally; never lay -10 on the Rockets. Tonight will be different. Without Anthony Davis the Pelicans will get lost in the shuffle of a scoring blitz and the 4th quarter will likely be a runaway. The Rockets easily improve their current streak to 4 straight with a big win over the Pelicans.
