I hope you read my free pick article yesterday and laid a few quid on my plays, because I went 2 for 2, even though my first pick was a subliminal one. I was originally going to go with the Washington Capitals at +125 in Boston against the Bruins, but couldn’t stay off the UNDER in Clippers vs. Nuggets. Check it out here.
Today for my free play we will stick to the NBA when the 7th in the West Rockets host the league’s worst team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Rockets are a 14-point home favorite with the total currently set at 218.5.
The Cavs are currently on an 11-game losing streak, losing by an average of 22 in their last 5. They are 28th in team points per game, 23rd in opponents points per game and dead last in point differential.
After winning 6-in-a-row in Golden State on January 3rd, giving them 11 wins in their last 12, Houston has lost 2 of it’s last 3, including a 116-109 at home to Milwaukee their last time out on Wednesday. The Rockets opened as a 1-point home favorite against the Bucks, but closed as a 2-point home dog.
Take a look at – A New Strategy for a New Year
Harden has been on a tear, scoring 35 or more in his last 16 games, including 8 games with 41 or more. Even though Chris Paul is still out, Clint Capela has established himself as Harden’s right hand man. Capela is second on the team in scoring, averaging 17.6 PPG and has more than twice as many rebounds as anyone else on the Rockets with 12.9 rebounds per game.
I don’t like laying 14 in professional basketball, but I’m making an exception tonight.

We’ve been running hot with our free picks, going 7-2 in our last 9, including last night’s loss when the Raptors stunned the Bucks in Milwaukee.
