NBA Free Pick | Blazers at Raptors
I love Toronto in this game. I think it’s one that a lot of people will put money on Portland though. I really don’t understand why. I mean, sure, the Blazers are a good team. But this is a brutal road trip for them. Traveling from Portland all the way to Toronto isn’t exactly easy. I expect them to certainly come out a little bit sluggish to open the game.

Also, let’s not forget how damn good the Raptors are at home. They are a stunning 26-6 at home this year. Air Canada Center is always an extremely tough place for opponents to play. The Raptors do a fantastic job of capitalizing on their home court advantage. Their fans are loud and there is no doubt they respond to the energy, and more importantly, feed off it.
Meanwhile, the Blazers play slightly below average basketball away from home. Their road record this year is only 14-15. Not good by any means. I think they will come into this game and clearly be underdogs. Not just by the point total, but just by the eye test. That is why I love taking Toronto -5 points in this game.
I can’t say I expect a huge blowout, but I definitely expect the Raptors to win by ten points or so. I think it’ll be a situation where they pull away from the spread late in the game, boost the lead with free throws and ultimately win by 10-11 points. Somewhere in that range.
And to top it all off, the Raptors have been great in their last 10 games. They are 8-2 and playing very good basketball. It is very very hard to bet against them right now. That’s why I’m taking Toronto to cover the 5-point spread.
Simon Says take the Raptors… and best of luck to us!
