MNF Free Pick | Vikings at Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are a very difficult team to beat on Monday night, especially in Seattle. Since 2010, the Seahawks are 7-2 on Monday Night Football, only one team has been better, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Other teams have played more games on Monday night, such as the Bears with 16, they are 11-5. Going much further back in time, when the Seahawks play on Monday night, they usually win. Seattle has always been thought of as one of the toughest towns to pick up a victory and it matter not what day the game is played on.

For whatever reason, the place is tough! The fans will tell you it’s them. Maybe this is partially true, however, the real reason teams win games is for the simple fact they were better than the opponent on that given day, period.

Seattle has been a tough team over the past several years but also a disappointing team. They won it all in the 2013-14 season with a 43-8 Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. That was a tough-minded team that had a very special defense. They have not been the same since. Paul Allen was a great owner and with his recent death (October 15th, 2018) the future of this teams success is up in the air.

Tonight, the Seahawks come in with a 7-5 record and they need this win in a big way. The Rams lead the division at 11-2 but the Seahawks can lead the wildcard charge and can pretty much sew it up with a win. The Vikings are trying to hang on and absolutely “must win” if they are to have any real chance at the wildcard spot.

The Seahawks are scoring 26.6 PPG and allowing 21.6. The Vikings are scoring 22.9 PPG and allowing 22.5. The offensive numbers favor the Vikings; however, the rushing yards favor the Seahawks – 148.8 to 86.1. The Seahawks defense may not be what it once was, but considering that this one is in Seattle, the nod must go to the home team.

There are two ways in which to approach this game. One, you can bet against the Flyers, they have been pretty bad this year and they seem to have lost their heart completely. The other glaring reason to bet against them would simply have to be their record against the spread, it’s an abysmal-15-29. They Read More…
