MLB Free Pick | Tigers at Yankees
The Yankees opened up the season in grand fashion, however, they were beaten by the lowly Orioles twice, and in the second game of the three-game opener, they lost the run line, 5-3. To say the Yankees have gotten off to a rough start would be an understatement.

Not only have the Yankees taken two losses against the Orioles – and in the Bronx to boot – they have already been hit with the injury bug. Stanton is on the DL with a left bicep strain, as well as Andujar, who went to the 10-day DL with a right shoulder strain.
Here’s the deal, the Yankees have so much depth, it’s sickening! This team is so loaded. They will be fine. The Yankees tend to do this every year, and every year they come out smelling like a rose.
Jordan Zimmerman takes the hill for the Tigers with 7.0 inning pitched this season, having given up one hit, 0 walks, 0 runs and a 0.00 ERA, and a 0.14 WHIP. Tanaka takes comes in having pitched well through 5.2 innings but nowhere near as dominate as Zimmerman, with 6 hits, and a 1.59 ERA, along with a 1.06 WHIP.
We do realize that it’s entirely too early to feel the numbers. They are early numbers and down the stretch, Tanaka will no doubt be good, he gets better as the season ages. This is his second start; however, he is starting to show his age and he may have gotten away with one against the Orioles to spare getting swept at home. The Problem for the Tigers, the Yankee bats.
The Yankee bats are relentless and if you want proof; Troy Tulowitzki is batting 9th! They are the new “murderers row”. The Yankees will win games in spite of any bad pitching and when they do make it to the bull pen, lights out. This bullie is the best in the majors and many are saying the best in the history of baseball.
The Tigers have probably picked the wrong night to pick up the win in the Bronx. We have to love Tanaka.
