Game: Colorado Rockies (52-63, 52-63 ATS) at San Diego Padres (53-61, 52-62 ATS)
When: 10:10 PM ET, Sunday, August 9th, 2019
Where: Petco Park, San Diego, California
Current Line: COL +131 SDP -141 Total: 9
TV Coverage: AT&T SportsNet-Rocky Mountain, FS San Diego
Probable Pitchers: Rockies LH Kyle Freeland (3-9, 7.24 ERA) vs. Padres RH Cal Quantrill (4-3, 3.57 ERA)
The Rockies have made the playoffs the last two seasons, and currently sit last in the NL West, 24 games behind the league leading Dodgers. At 11 games under .500, they are only 7.5 games out of a wild card spot in a wide-open National League playoff picture.
The Padres are a team on the rise, but their record, both SU and ATS, are very similar to the Rockies and find themselves 6 games out of the wild card.
Tonight is game 11 of 19 between these two division rivals. Colorado currently leads the season series 6-4. Freeland hasn’t pitched against the Padres this year, but the Rockies do well when he takes the mound at Petco.

Cal Quantrill has been great for the Padres. The 24-year-old rookie has allowed 3 earned runs or less in his last 9 starts since June 23rd. Five of those starts he allowed 0 runs. The start before that? Against the Rockies when he gave up 4 earned over 5 innings.
If Freeland can limit the damage from Manny, Mejia and Renfroe, the Rockies win this one, providing some real nice value.
