Luis Castillo is on fire at 7-1 for the Red’s and so is the team with a season-high 5-game winning streak. The best news of the day for the Reds would be the fact that Castillo has already beaten by the Brewers and home field advantage in baseball means next to nothing. The Reds believe in themselves and that’s what it takes more than anything to win and continue winning.

Confidence means everything, and you can believe that Castillo comes in with a lot of it for this game. The odds are even up and that says Vegas is starting to believe in what this team is doing.
The MLB season is brutally long, however, the one great thing about a long season; there are no flukes, teams win because they are good over time. The Reds are winning because they are starting to figure this baseball season out, their confidence level is high and what they are doing breeds greatness.
The Brewers have not fallen off the boat, but they are close to it. This team has loads of talent and they can never get it together. It all comes down to pitching and late relief, without these two ingredients, any team is dead in the water.
Jhoulys Chacin takes the mound for the Brewers and he has struggled. With a 5.60 ERA on 62.2 innings pitched and a 3-8 record, it’s hard to bet on this guy right now. It seems easy to bet on Castillo and that’s the problem with betting this sport!
The rule of thumb when it comes to betting baseball is usually– ride the “streaks”, when there is a hot one, ride it. As much as we like the Reds in this game, and think they most-likely win the game, we are not going to bet on the game today but will take over the total of 9.
It’s football season! Yes, it’s the CFL, but it’s football, and here is a great piece on How to Bet on Football – Betting the CFL.
Chacin could get lit up, torched and just pounded. Castillo will need to be on his game through 7 ½ innings and he can be, but we think there is some letdown, (now watch him spin a “no no”). We’re not counting on that.
