This seems like Groundhogs Days if you follow my picks…that’s right, drank a little too much yesterday. And today is Cinco de Mayo? Not fair. Was I the only one that got screwed over hard after Maximum Security was DQ? Wow…anyways…money is an interesting thing. I thought about going back to the NHL for today’s pick, but there’s a MLB total I like.
Game: New York Mets (16-17, 17-16 ATS) at Milwaukee Brewers (19-16, 16-19 ATS)
When: 2:10 PM ET, Sunday, May 5th, 2019
Where: Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Current Line: NYM +140 MIL -150 Total: 9.5
TV Coverage: SNY, FS Wisconsin, WYTU
Probable Pitchers: Jason Vargas (1-1, 5.75 ERA) vs. Zach Davies (3-0, 1.38 ERA)
Yesterday, Miller Park hosted the longest game in terms of innings in it’s 19-year history with an 18 inning affair that the Brewers won 4-3. With a 9th inning run, the Mets tied the score 2-2, and both teams went scoreless for the next 8 innings.
There was a bunch of action in the 18th, with the Mets getting a run in the top on a Jeff McNeil single. The Brew Crew found their mojo in the bottom, plating two on a Ryan Braun single, his 6th hit of the day. The win was the Brewers 6th in 9 games, with the loss being the Mets 7th in their last 10 games.
I tried to do some research on games following marathons the day before, but my brain just isn’t working right. However, the Mets did play an 11-inning game on April 15th, with 17 total runs scored in the next one.
The total has gone UNDER is the Mets last 5 games but the OVER has paid in 19 of the Mets 33 games this season. Bet the OVER.
