MLB Free Pick | Houston at Cincinnati
The Reds picked up a big win over one of the best teams in baseball last night, and definitely a team that comes in near or above the top-five in most power rankings. Last night was a close game and yet another run line loss by the Astros, who happen to be 38-34 against the run line. That’s not an entirely bad number but it’s certainly not the best in the league. The trick with run lines is to pick your spot. Sometimes games need a little handicapping and yet other games need none at all. We may have found just that game tonight.
Game: Houston Astros (48-25, 39-34 ATS) at Cincinnati Reds (32-38, 38-32 ATS)
When: 7:10 PM ET, Tuesday, June 18th, 2019
Where: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio
Current Line: HOU -165 CIN +155 Total: 8
TV Coverage: AT&T SportsNet Southwest, FS Ohio
Probable Pitchers: RH Justin Verlander (9-2, 2.41 ERA) vs. Anthony DeSclafani (3-3, 4.43 ERA)
The Astros waltzed into Cincinnati thinking they would pick up an easy win to a team that was 16-17 at home; it didn’t happen. Luis Castillo was superb and pitched 2-hit baseball through 7 innings to hold the Astros to two runs and pick up the win by a final of 3-2.
The Reds played a very good baseball game on Monday evening, as well as did Castillo. It was a great night for a team that hasn’t had that many great nights but tonight we think that all ends! This fun comes to an abrupt halt in the Natty when red-hot Justin Verlander (9-2) takes the mound facing off against Anthony DeSclafani 3-3.
Verlander comes in with a 2.41 ERA and a 0.73 WHIP and 125 K’s. He’s back, and the crazy thing; he got off to a slow start. Verlander will be fine and we knew he would be early on when he wasn’t quite the force he had been so many seasons before. He is a pitchers pitcher, he takes his time and gets it right. He is doing that now and it’s working.
What’s even better, the bats. They will pick it up. They may have been relatively quiet last night but give them another opportunity!
MLB Free Pick: Houston Run Line -1.5-105

Normally, this wouldn’t be a sexy game and we’re not saying that it’s a sexy game today, but we do like the curb appeal the Oakland A’s are giving their fans. Don’t look now, but this team comes into the three-game set with a 53-41 record and having won 8 of their last 10 games. Read More…
With the second half of the 2019 MLB season in full swing, we had to search the Monday schedule for some real value. Wouldn’t you know we found it with the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox who host American League East Division foe Toronto on Monday night. The Red Sox still put up Read More…
I hit the second part of a double down on Bryson DeChambeau to beat Wyndham Clark last week in their 4th round matchup at the 3M Open. If it weren’t for a miraculous eagle putt on 18 by Matthew Wolff, we would have hit the double down, and a huge payday at +1150 plus the Read More…
