Chris Sale will take the mound for to BoSox, with the Dodgers yet to name their Game 1 starter, although it is thought to be Clayton Kershaw.
Boston has gone 7-2 in the playoffs after their incredible 108 win regular season, and with home field advantage, I cannot see the Dodgers slowing them down. Their #9 hitter, Jackie Bradley Jr. was the ALCS MVP!
Usually when American League teams travel to play in the NL park, they are at a disadvantage. But not these Red Sox. I expect Mookie Betts to play the majority of innings in LA at 2nd base, allowing JD Martinez and his heavy bat to play in right so they don’t miss him in the batting order. This move will make the Sox even stronger with guys like Ian Kinsler and Brock Holt available off the bench to pinch-hit.
Sure, the Dodgers won 92 games and finished the last month of the season playing well, but for the second year in a row I just don’t think they have what it takes to beat the AL World Series representative.
In order for them to do so, they will need their pitching staff to be at the top of their game and will need better hitting from guys like Max Muncy, Brian Dozier and Kike Hernandez.
Kenley Jansen and Pedro Baez have looked great out of the pen, but the rest have been pedestrian. Alex Wood and Kenta Maeda will need to show their worth.
I expect this is to be a very entertaining World Series, however the Boston Red Sox will be celebrating their first championship since 2013. They will take them down in 6 games.
Free World Series Winner Prediction: Boston Red Sox -155
