MLB 2018 ALDS Game 4 Free Pick
Game: Boston Red Sox (109-55) at New York Yankees (102-63)
When: 8:07 PM ET, Tuesday, October 9, 2018
Where: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York
Current Line: OFF Total: OFF
Pitchers: Rick Porcello (17-7, 4.27 ERA) vs. CC Sabathia (9-7, 3.65 ERA)
At the time of writing this (Monday morning) Game 3 of this ALDS has yet to be played, so the series is currently tied at 1. By the time this one is about to start, it will be an elimination game with Game 3 putting someone up 2 games to 1.
Sox vs. Yankees is possibly the best rivalry in sports right now, and I am sure this game will live up to expectations. Porcello has enjoyed pitching against the Bronx bombers this season, with a 2-0 record, giving up only 6 earned runs and 11 hits in 23.1 innings. He struck out 20 batters, issuing only 4 free passes for a 2.31 ERA and a 0.64 WHIP. He also managed a complete game 1-hitter against the Yanks on August 3rd. Porcello came in in relief in Game 1, giving up a hit in 0.2 of an inning.
The 19-year veteran Sabathia didn’t fair so well against the Red Sox this season, going 1-0 in 3 starts. CC went 14 innings in those starts, allowing 18 hits and 7 earned runs for a 4.50 ERA, 1.64 WHIP line.
The Sox held on for a 5-4 win in Game 1 after Chris Sale gave up 5 hits and 2 earned in 5.1 innings with Masahiro Tanaka throwing a solid 5 innings, leading the Yankees to a 6-2 Game 2 win.
My money is on Porcello and the Red Sox in the Bronx in Game 4, although I expect it to be another great game in this rivalry.

This is a fun one and what a series it’s been. This is especially fun because these two have been here and done this before. This series has played out exactly as it should have with the road team capturing the wins, heading back, and the road team capturing the win. The back and forth Read More…
Yesterday was quite possibly the worst day I’ve had in sports. But that was yesterday, it’s a new week and ready to dig into the numbers and do what I do best…find value. I will never go against my mold and bet moneylines of -150 and over. To me, the value just isn’t there. I Read More…
