Atlanta Hawks at Cleveland Cavaliers (Game 1) – 7 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016
(Current line: Cavs -7.5 Total 200.5)
The Cavs will be well rested after dispatching the Pistons in four straight in Round One as they get set to face a Hawk team that needed 6 to get by Boston, but looked incredibly impressive in doing so.
The Cavs are rounding into championship form yet again, but Atlanta showed in the first round that they can shoot the lights out and that is one way to really give the East’s best some issues.
While I think in the end the Cavs will win this series, likely in six or seven games, I think basically every game in this series will be tight and come down to a couple plays.
That is why the Hawks, who have had less rest, yet played in the more competitive series are the better play getting the points in game one. So often the team that has had more rest comes out a little rusty and that is what I see happening to the Cavs in game one.
Lebron has his help now with K Love, and Kyrie Irving playing great ball and they have beaten Atlanta seven straight, but this Hawks team seems ready to make an early series statement and I see the Hawks being in this from the opening tip and showing Cleveland they will not be an easy out this year like they were last season.
