Chiefs force 5 turnovers, rout Texans
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Chiefs turned their attention to the Patriots on Sunday while awaiting word on wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who was hurt in their playoff victory over Houston.
Kansas City snapped an eight-game postseason losing streak with its 30-0 victory over the Texans on Saturday. But advancing to the Chiefs’ first AFC championship game 1993 could be tough if Maclin, by far their top pass catcher, is unable to play against next Saturday in New England.
Maclin appeared to hurt his right knee in the third quarter against Houston, though coach Andy Reid said Sunday he had more pain in the ankle. Maclin was still undergoing an MRI and other tests.
If Maclin is unable to go, rookie Chris Conley would take his place against the Patriots.
