Betting NBA Futures - Championship Winner

With NBA basketball just around the corner, there is no better time than now to get your National Basketball Association future wagers in. The departure of LeBron James has opened up the East, and we see a big shift in power with the Cleveland Cavaliers taking a huge drop after participating in the NBA Finals the past four years, winning one. Let’s take a look at the odds for teams to win the NBA Championship this year and who I think provides some value.

Golden State Warriors -215

The Golden State Warriors are currently the heavy favorite to win it all again this year after winning the last two championships and 3 in the last four years. The dynasty started in the 2014-15 season when they won their first of three championships. The next season they broke the Chicago Bulls all-time regular season wins record, but fell short in the Finals against the Cavs.

The Warriors seemed to glide into the playoffs last season, winning 58 games, 7 less than the league leading Rockets. They needed 7 games to eliminate the Rockets in the Western Finals, but swept the Cavs in the NBA Finals.

Returning to the Warriors are All-Stars Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, and the rich got richer after Boogie Cousins felt slighted in free agency and decided to take less money to play on a winning squad and signed with Golden State. Baring some crazy unforeseen catastrophic circumstances, no one will be able to take down this juggernaut in the 2019 NBA postseason.

Pay Per Heads are the Growing Trend  –  Reviews Price Per Head services

Houston Rockets +800

Finishing the season last year with the best record in the NBA, returning their core this season and adding Carmelo Anthony, the Rockets have the best shot at knocking off the Warriors.

James Harden led the league in scoring with 30.4 points per game, with Chris Paul 28th with 18.6. They were second only to the Warriors in points per game, and had the #1 point per game differential in the NBA. They finished 6th in total defense, and if they can improve that number slightly, that could prove to be the difference.

Boston Celtics +500

The Celtics are the favorites to win the East, and for good reason. They finished last season with a 55-27 record, and did not have arguably their two best players to finish the season in Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. They still managed to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals where they had a 3-2 lead on the Cavs but could not seal the deal.

With eight players finishing the 2017-18 regular season averaging double-digits in scoring, and third in defensive efficiency, this young team is primed to make a run to the Finals this season. This is especially true if Irving and Hayward can stay healthy and make the impact we all know they can.

Philadelphia 76ers +950

The 76ers enjoyed their best season in what seems like a lifetime after going 52-30 last season and earning a playoff berth for the first time since 2011-12. They got past the Heat in the first round 4 games to 1, but got taken out by the Celtics in the next round 4-1.

If Joel Embiid can continue to improve and Markelle Fultz can live up to his draft expectations to go along with Ben Simmons and company, this team has a legit chance to be playing the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Los Angeles Lakers +950

I just can’t write an article looking at the NBA Championship winners and not include the team that LeBron James plays for. We have seen him put his team on his shoulders and will them to victory, and you can be sure he will bring that same tenacity to LA.

I mean, LeBron has played in 8 straight NBA Finals. Granted he does not have the talent around him right now, but he didn’t have a lot to work with at times in Cleveland either and made it work.

Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram both averaged 16.1 points per game in 2017-18, and surely Lonzo Ball has to be better than what he showed last year. If this trio can take a step forward, there is a chance the Lakers can make a run. They need to improve a defense that was 25th in the league last season, giving up an average of 109.6 PPG, because they were able to find the basket last season, scoring 108.1 points per game, good for 11th in the league.
