BetAnySports Weekend Betting Preview - June 2-4
By Dave Schwab
While the first weekend of June is highlighted by both the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup Final in the NHL, when it comes to betting on sports at BetAnySports there are a number of other big events on tap over the next few days to pique the interest of anyone looking for some action.
Along with a full schedule of MLB games featuring a number of great matchups, there is continuing betting action in the French Open for both men’s and women’s tennis and at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio when it comes to men’s professional golf. There are soccer games in the MLS and women’s basketball in the WNBA while the boys of NASCAR head to the Monster Mile in Dover for the running of Sunday’s AAA 400 Fight for Autism as part of the Monster Energy Cup Series.
All eyes will turn to Oracle Arena this Thursday night for Game 1 of a best-of-seven showdown between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State in what will be the rubber match between the top two NBA teams facing one another for the third-straight season in the NBA Finals. BetAnySports has listed the Warriors as seven-point home favorites for the series opener which is slated to get underway at 9 p.m. (ET) on ABC.
The total line for Game 1 has been set at 225.5 points and it has gone OVER in nine of Cleveland’s first 13 playoff games as well as in nine of Golden State’s first 12 games played in this year’s postseason. Going back over the first two meetings in the championship series, Golden State has a slight 7-6 edge both straight-up and against the spread. In two meetings this year in the regular season, the home team won each game both SU and ATS with the total staying UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line each time. It has now stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in seven of the last nine games between these two bitter rivals. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday in Oakland with an anticipated 8 p.m. tip on ABC.
The Stanley Cup Final clash between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Nashville Predators resumes on Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena with Game 3 in an 8 p.m. start on NBC Sports Network. The Penguins opened up a 2-0 series lead in this best-of-seven showdown with a pair of victories on their home ice in the first two games. The total went OVER 5.5 in their 5-3 victory in the series opener as -160 favorites and it stayed UNDER that same total line in Wednesday night’s 4-1 victory as -136 favorites at home.
The Toronto Raptors stunned the betting world as underdogs by beating the Golden State Warriors four times in six games to win this season’s NBA Championship. Staying ‘north of the border’ for this week’s top underdog pick, I have turned to Week 2 in the CFL regular season. The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be on the Read More…
The Reds picked up a big win over one of the best teams in baseball last night, and definitely a team that comes in near or above the top-five in most power rankings. Last night was a close game and yet another run line loss by the Astros, who happen to be 38-34 against the Read More…
Throw out the fact that the San Francisco Giants are in last place in the National League West Division. The Giants-Dodgers rivalry is one of the best in baseball. The two teams meet for the fourth time this season beginning a four-game series on Monday night. If you think just because the Giants are in Read More…
