Australian Open Draws

By: GH

We wanted to take a look at the Men’s and Women’s Australian Open draws because as usual styles make a fight, and when you play a guy is important, and of course how tough his road is to the Final is very important especially in the hot Australian sun.

On the top Quarter we have Novak of course, he should meet little resistance until he hits the 4th round where a very good Tsonga or Nishikori may be waiting, these 2 guys can beat anyone and are extremely dangerous. Tsonga and Nishikori are very live dark horses and you can bet them at 60-1 and 17-1 respectively at America’s Bookie. Djokovic is coming in at -140.

In the next section we have Roger Federer, who might meet with some resistance with Dimitrov who has been playing well in the 4th round. Upset possibility here. This is a very weak section as the only players with any pedigree are Berdych and Cilic and both come with many warts. It’s quite possible that if Federer slips here, this may be the section that some relatively unknown groundstrokers such as Goffin, Dolgopolov or Almagro could make it through. Federer is +800, Dimitrov +5000, Berdych is +3550 and Cilic is +4000.The other guys are at least 175 to 1.

On the bottom we have Nadal who plays Verdasco in the first round (be very careful here Rafa), with Monfils and Kevin Anderson possible 4th round opponents, and then Raonic or Stan Wawrinka in the Quarters. Rafa’s road to the Semi is a very difficult one and if he gets there he should have nothing left. Rafa is +850 but I wouldn’t advise it here. Betting Wawrinka at 11-1 is a much more solid pick. We don’t see and realistic dark horses here except for maybe Raonic at 30-1.

On the very bottom we have Andy Murray at +450. Murray certainty could make it to the Finals but unless Novak slips up before that, he has no chance. In the Quarterfinals he should play big John Isner +13500, David Ferrer +8500 or maybe Lopez +20000. This is a very weak section as well, and Murray should make it through here.
For the Women on the top we have Serena at +250 who really may have problems with Wozniacki +2350 in the 4th round, keep your eye on this one. In the other section its Maria Sharapova’s +600 to lose. Maria should make it to the quarters unless some unknown player beats her which does happen on occasion.

Next section Aggie Radwanska +1600 may bump heads with Bouchard in the 2nd round. The winner here will make the quarterfinals unless Stosur can get her head out of her ass. In the other section it’s WIDE open. Kvitova +850 is the seed but someone like Cibulkova +5500 a former finalist may be back in the quarters here.

Bottom section most likely will have Kerber +1750 playing either Azarenka +350 or Muguruza +750 in the Quarterfinals, we really like Muguruza here. She has been getting close now for 2 years for a major breakthrough, and every time you lose you learn something new about winning, that is until it becomes counterproductive and you start feeling the pressure again. We feel Garbine is just where she should and is poised for a long run here in Melbourne.

Now at the very bottom the top seed is a very overrated Halep at +700 as the top seed. This is the section for the Women where someone out of left field makes the Semis as the other top seed is Venus +4500. Look for someone like Ivanovic +5500 or maybe Madison Keys +2750 to do some damage here.

Ok, its prediction time so you can make some money at America’s Bookie. For the men we see Djokovic making the semis but the odds are terrible so let’s take flyer here and say Tsonga gets it done and lose to Federer in the Semis.
On the bottom we like Murray to take out Wawrinka in a close one. Stan has the game but doesn’t have the hunger he had in the past. Murray still does, and if he plays Roger, Murray has a chance to win the whole thing here.

For the Chics we smell a lot of crazy things happening. Serena is getting old and is banged up, Halep isn’t ready and Sharapova finds a way to mess up. It’s very possible we see a final 4 of Wozniacki, Radwanska, Muguruza and Madison Keys. Remember Wimbledon a few years ago where all the top players lost and we had a Lisicki vs. Bartoli Final. It could happen again; if we’re you I’d take a flyer on the 4 players we mentioned as all 4 have a very real chance to win it all at long odds especially Muguruza the 3rd seed.

Good luck at we will be back next week to give you a few head to head picks at America’s Bookie. See you soon.
