ATB Weekend Preview of What to Bet
What a great weekend to be a sports fan, and it’s an even better one if you like to bet on sports. The MLB League Championship Series’ get going this weekend, the NHL has a full Saturday schedule, NFL Week 6 has some divisional matchups that could potentially have playoff implications even though we are only 6 weeks in, with the same being said for college football. On top of that, there is a great boxing event to wager on. Here is a weekend preview of what to bet for October 12th through 14th.
The Milwaukee Brewers host the Los Angeles Dodgers to get the NLCS started with the first pitch coming at 8:09 PM ET on Friday. Clayton Kershaw will take the mound for the visitors with the Brewers starter unknown at this time.
The Brew Crew swept the Rockies in the NLDS, and have now won 11 games in a row after finishing the season with 8 straight wins. Not only did the Brewers take out the Rockies in three straight, they did it without allowing a run in their final two games.
The Dodgers dispatched the Braves in 4 games, shutting out the young team from Atlanta in the first two. This is going to be a great series and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. I love betting on playoffs series’, and you will find the Brewers at +135 to win the series while the Dodgers are favored at -155.
The ALCS gets going on Saturday at 8:09 PM ET when the Boston Red Sox host the Houston Astros at Fenway. Game 1 starters match Chris Sale against Justin Verlander while Game 2 will see David Price and Gerrit Cole will take the mound in Game 2 at 7:09 PM ET.
The Sox are the favorite for Game 1 at -116 with the Stros at +106. Think you have a good feel for who is going to win this one and play in the World Series? AL Division Series prices see the Astros a favorite at -140 and the Sox at +120.
There are no less than three divisional games in Week 6 that could make a difference come December when playoff seeds are determined. The Bengals are a 2-point home favorite against the Steelers, the Falcons are a 3-point home favorite hosting the Bucs, with a Thursday Night Football matchup featuring the Giants as a 2-point home dog against the Eagles.
The game of the week is at Foxborough, where young phenom QB Patrick Mahomes squares off against the GOAT Tom Brady. The Chiefs are 5-0 and travel to Massachusetts to play an improved Patriot squad who are 3-2.
The Pats got a Week 1 win at home versus the Texans, but stumbled in Week’s 2 and 3, losing to Jacksonville and Detroit. They have gotten back on track with two consecutive wins, leading them to be a 3.5-point home favorite.
The Chiefs have scored 30 or more points in all but 1 of their 5 games this season, and with the Patriots scoring 38 in their last two games, there is no wonder why this game has the highest current total of the week at 59.5.
A look at the Week 7 NCAAF schedule shows plenty of marquee games with CFP implications. Possibly the best game has #2 Georgia Bulldogs traveling to Baton Rouge to take on the #13 LSU Tigers.
The Tigers come into this one on the heels of their first loss of the season last week, a 27-19 road loss against the Florida Gators. This is a very important game for LSU, hosting the undefeated Bulldogs that have scored 41 or more in all but one of their 7 games. LSU are currently an 8-point home dog.
Other must watch games include #7 Washington at #17 Oregon, where the Ducks are a 3-point dog, and #12 Michigan hosting #15 Wisconsin. Michigan is an 8.5-point favorite in this Big Ten tilt between two undefeated teams.
A potential Eastern Conference Final matchup highlights a heavy Saturday schedule in the NHL when the Washington Capitals host the Toronto Maple Leafs. These two have had no trouble finding the back of the net early in the season, with the Leafs scoring 7 in their past two games and the Caps scoring 19 goals in their first 3 games.
Looking through the Saturday schedule, I am strongly considering betting the OVER on the grand salami. The schedule is ripe for tons of scoring, but I will wait to see what online sportsbooks list the grand salami total for that day. Scoring is up in the NHL thus far this season, and it’s time to profit before oddsmakers make the proper adjustments.
If boxing is your thing, you will find some huge odds for the Jose Benavidez Jr. vs. Terence Crawford fight. A $100 bet on Benavidez Jr. will bring you a $1250 profit, while a $100 win will cost you an astounding $2450. Maybe you have some inside info and predict a huge upset in this one, you will be laughing all the way to the bank.
The NBA regular season starts on Tuesday, and sees a three-day break following an 11-game preseason schedule on Friday night. If you are a savy basketball fan, the last night of the preseason can offer a ton a value for those in the know.
I would never have the time to go over everything happening in the sports world this weekend, but this is a great preview of what to watch for and some ideas of what to bet. It is a great time to be a sports fan with traditional betting types, futures, props and live betting, offering a near infinite number of betting options.
Stay with us as the weekend gets closer and more lines are released for your favorite game. We will bring you the news, notes and information you need to beat the bookie.
