Daniel Norris started the season with the big club, getting shelled out of the pen, and ended up on the 60-day DL, undergoing core muscle surgery. He’s made three starts since returning, giving up 2 runs in his first start, 3 in his second and 5 in his last start against Houston on September 12th.
Odorizzi was stellar in his last outing, pitching 7.1 against the Yankees, giving up one hit and one earned run, while striking out 5 and issuing 3 free passes. The problem is, Odorizzi just hasn’t been that good this year, sporting a 4.41 ERA and 1.32 WHIP, despite having close to a strike per inning.
