We know this game is going to be a tremendous matchup. This one has all the earmarks of an instant classic. Tom Izzo is easily one of the best coaches in the entire history of NCAA Men’s College Basketball. Texas Tech is an old school but unproven in the basketball ranks. They have certainly made their mark this year. Can they bring a powerhouse basketball program down? Does Izzo and the crew move on to Monday night or will Texas Tech shock the world?
The Red Raiders are scoring 73.0 points per game and allowing 57.0. They are shooting 47.1% from the field and grabbing 34.3 rebounds per game along with 13.9 assists per game. They come into this one with 5.0 blocks and 7.4 steals per game.
The Spartans are scoring 78.6 points per game and allowing 61.3 per game. They are shooting 48.6% from the field and grabbing 40.7 rebounds per game, along with 18.8 assists, 5.3 blocks, and 5.4 steals per game.
The numbers are close, very close. This game will not be a barn burning score fest, this game will be calculated, this game will be a defensive-grind-it-out, methodically played masterpiece, and in the end, this one most likely goes under the total of 132.
Texas Tech held Buffalo to 58, Michigan to 44, and Gonzaga to 69 points. Michigan held Minnesota to 50, LSU to 63, and Duke to 67. They have both proven their defensive worthiness.
This game will go under but who wins?
We like the teaser. The teaser is the only way to go for us in this one. A teaser will be fun for two reasons; it’s the best way to win on this game, and it’s allows action both ways. You are killing two birds with one stone.
