Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans

4:35 p.m. Saturday, ABC/ESPN (Chiefs- 3)

While I have been very impressed by the Texans ascent to an AFC South title after it seemed like the team was destined for a sub-par year early in the season, I have been that much more impressed with the balance the Chiefs have shown over the last 8 plus weeks. Houston boasts one of the best and most athletic D’s in the NFL and it will definitely test the K.C high powered offense. This game has struggle city for the home team written all over it though.

After Kansas City was up and down for most of the first half of the season, as soon as they traveled across the pond and pummeled the Lions in London it seemed like a sleeping giant was awakened. Andy Reid has done a masterful job in getting literally every inch of effort out of his squad and this is a team that …..dare I say….could win it all.

It starts on the road which is never easy, but the Texans have offensive issues of their own at times and as long as the aggressive K.C defense doesn’t let DeAndre Hopkins become a one man wrecking crew, K.C will score enough to win this one and possibly by double digits. Look for the trend in this modern era of parity in the NFL of road teams winning playoff games, which used to be unheard of, to continue in the Lone Star State.

Experts at the best online sportsbook currently have the Chiefs a 3-point road favorite with the number at 40 between these two defensive minded teams who finished in the top 10 in most major defensive categories.
