Three NFL Teams With Great Odds to Win the 2013-2014 Super Bowl
By Knup There are many things to consider before you place a futures bet on the NFL Super Bowl, and one of them is how crazy the NFL season really can be. Injuries seem to pop up all over the place, and many times it comes down to watching a team just get hot at the right time. Take the Baltimore Ravens for example from last season. Almost no one really expected the Ravens to be serious contenders at about the halfway mark of the season, but they turned it around, got hot, and went on to win the 2013 Super Bowl. Now, the new ... -

What Quarterback Controversy? Notre Dame Has Their Starter
By Knup I talked recently about the quarterback controversy and battle that was going to be held by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Irish lost Everett Golson as they decided to dismiss him from the team and the school, something that was talked about more than just a little bit in the sports news recently. While Golson is out, it means that the Fighting Irish need to find an answer at the quarterback position. What did this mean exact... -

According to the oddsmakers at America's Bookie, the Dodgers are at -101, the Yankees are at -109 and the total is set at 8. The Yankees had a much-needed day off Monday after posting a 4-6 mark on a tough West Coast road trip. ... -

2013 NBA Finals: The Old School versus the New
By AK We are down to only a few more nights before one team is hailed a dethroner or one team becomes a defender. As we get closer to the season’s magnum opus, let’s take a step back and put the two contending teams face-to-face for a little nitpicking. The athletic versus the fundamental play While the defending champs Miami Heat aren’t exactly the youngest team in the league, their style of play fits a team with fresher legs and younger knees. With high flyers like reigning MVP LeBron James and the former 2006 Finals MVP Dwyane Wade, plus Ray Allen’s impec... -

2013 PGA US Open Predictions
By Scott The 2013 U.S. Open will be hosted at the Merion Golf Club for the first time since 1981. The par 70 (6996 Yards) course is the shortest course for a PGA major since 2004. There has been a lot of rain this week on the course and the course will be soft, which will make it easier on the golfers. Playing at Merion should be interesting because only 11 players have played competitive rounds on the course. Most players will have never played a competitive round at Merion in the past. This week putting is going to be the biggest factor, but I also think that scrambling will play a ro...Golf Recent Forum Posts

Arizona’s Sean Miller Lands Contract Extension
By Knup A 27-8 record last season was no joke, and neither was the fact that the Arizona Wildcats were a strong team, and a serious major contender as well. The Wildcats had talent across their roster last season, they ended the year ranked 21st in the nation, and they obviously made it to the NCAA Tournament. They had a tough loss to the 7th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the thir... -

MMA Betting: UFC 161 Odds & Picks
By Scott The UFC is back in Canada this weekend. UFC 161 will be held at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. There are two Facebook prelim fights starting at 6pm and four more prelim fights on FX starting at 8pm. The main card starts on PPV at 10pm. The card doesn’t look that great for a pay-per-view card, but we do have two great fights to end the night. In the main event we have Dan Henderson vs. Rashad Evans and then in the co-main event we have Roy Nelson vs. Stipe Miocic. 2013 Stanley Cup Final Game 3 Betting Trends
By Edward23 Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins After putting in more than the traditional 60 minutes in each of the first two contests of the Stanley Cup Final, the Bruins will look to seize an edge in the series, when they return home for Game 3 against the Blackhawks. Boston rebounded after suffering a hard-luck 4-3 loss in triple-overtime in Game 1 as Daniel Paille netted the winner in the extra session for a 2-1 triumph on Saturday. Tuukka Rask weathered a furious first-period storm and finished with 33 saves in the victory. According to the oddsmakers atNHL Recent Forum Posts
What they said after the first round of the U.S. Open
Thompson birdied six of his last 12 holes to shoot 66. He leads by three after
the first round of the U.S. Open. That matches the largest first-round lead
since 1960.Defending champion Rory McIlroy led by three last year at Congressional, but
the conditions are much different this year at The Olympic Club. Thompson is
just fine giving McIlroy or Woods the spotlight.“The way I look at it is I’ve always kind of flown under the radar. Obviously,
my name’s in the spotlight, but a lot of people don’t know who I am,” Thompson
stated. “And I’m totally okay with that because I’ve always been a player that
just kind of hangs around. I don’t give up very easily and I’m very proud of
that. Give Tiger the spotlight. I don’t care. I’m going to go out and play my
game. If I go out and putt the way I did today I’ll be in contention.”Here’s what other players were saying after the first rounds of the 112th U.S.
Open.– RORY MCILROY’S opening 77 was 12 shots worse than his first-round 65 at
Congressional last year. The defending champ said: “I tried to approach it
like any other tournament I play. I tried to go out there and shoot the best
score I could. And today wasn’t my greatest day, but hopefully I can come out
tomorrow morning and try and shoot a good one and at least try to be here for
the weekend.”– PHIL MICKELSON, a five-time runner-up at this championship, on what he needs
to do on Friday: “I’ve got a tough challenge just to get to the weekend
tomorrow. Unfortunately. But I think that we don’t get to see or have the
opportunity to test ourselves under such a difficult condition so I’ll go out
tomorrow and see if I can shoot something under par. I think that it will be
kind of have to put this round aside for now and see if I can just play one
round under par and maybe that will get me to the weekend.”– DAVID TOMS, the 2001 PGA Champion, on the course set up: “I thought the golf
course was set up pretty nicely, actually. You saw four-under par today, so
obviously you can score on the golf course the way it was set up. They had a
couple of tees moved up. It was just very, very difficult to get the ball in
the fairway. So if you can’t do that, then you can’t attack the pins that are
close to the edges. For me, one-under par was obviously a great round of golf.
My short game was good today, my up-and-down game. I scored probably better
than I played.”– BUBBA WATSON commenting on his round with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson:
“We’re not watching what anybody else is doing. I’m struggling on my own. I
don’t need to worry about anybody else. You just know at the end of the day
[Tiger] had a red number by his name and I had eight-over. At the end of the
day, I know he played pretty good.”– ANDY ZHANG, the 14-year-old amateur, got into the field after Paul Casey
withdrew. This is what he’ll take from his first round experience: “It will
definitely help a lot. It’s something that I can never learn playing the
junior tournaments. The junior tournaments, I start bad with maybe with a
triple or double and then I can work my way in like probably finish around
one-over or even. But not here. Not in the Olympic Club. But still I think I
kept myself pretty calm out there. I think I’m pretty happy with that.”
