US Open Day One
The US Open gets underway on Monday and there are a few interesting matches to get us started. Donald Young is playing Roger Federer is the night match. Federer is a big favorite, but look for the young American to close his eyes and swing away. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins a set, Winning the match however is another story as it comes down to “the courage to win.” That Donald Young is not ready for.
Gilles Simon is -600 over Michael Russel +450. Again this is a match where the dog will have his moments, but most likely Simon will find way to win. Jack Sock +475 has the skills to beat Florian Mayer and of our lively dogs, he is the only one with mental makeup to take out the favorite. Keep your eye on this match. Andy Murray will also be in action against Bogomolov Jr. Don’t expect much out of the dog here.
On the Women’s side, Number 1 Seed Victoria Azarenka is a big favorite over Panova. Same for Clijsters over Duval, and Sharapova over Czink. Two of the other top players are favored a little bit less but both should still win. Stosur is -1110 over Martic and Na Li is -1400 over Heather Watson. LI has a tendency to “get up on the wrong side of the bed” at times. If she throws in a stinker then Watson could beat her.
We are starting off slow today with our picks. We are calling up America's Bookie and betting two small dogs. We expect the old pro and former Semifinalist to least win his first round match. Bet Robbie Ginepri +100 over Albert Ramos and also take Falla +105 who always plays well in Slams to beat Klizan.
