US Open Day 10

We didn’t get a lot of tennis in on Tuesday due to the Rain. Azarenka won a match that was halted by rain over Stosur in a 3rd set tiebreak. Bartoli took a surprising 4-0 lead on Sharapova before that match was stopped, and will be completed today. For the Men only David Ferrer was able to complete his victory over Richard Gasquet in 3 tough sets. Andy Roddick won the first point of a first set tiebreak vs. Del Potro. Tipsarevic was up 5-2 when play was halted over Kohlschreiber, and Djokovic was up 2-0 in games over Wawrinka.

For people like Sharapova and Kohlschreiber who got off to bad starts, they can take it as a new day a just start from scratch mentally, even though some damage has been done on the scoreboard. Look for both of them to come back and win, In the Roddick match, the match is going just as Andy wants; playing tiebreak’s is how he wins, so so far so good.

Today we start the Men’s Quarterfinals and finish up the Women’s Quarters. For the Men, Murray is -1100 over Cilic +700.This is way too much to lay on Andy who should win this match, but Cilic is a fighter and he has enough game to push the Brit. This one is going to be much tougher then people think. Murray should come through in the end but not before Cilic puts a little scare into him.

Federer -600 also plays in the Quarterfinals tonight vs. Tomas Berdych +450.This is also going to be a great match with similar results to the Murray match. Berdych took Federer out of Wimbledon a few years ago, and has the tools to do it again. He has played very well this summer. There is something missing in his game right now, a certain confidence that was there two years ago. We look for Roger to win this but not before Berdych put a scare in him.

In the other 2 Women’s Quarterfinals, one will be quick and one will last forever. Serena is -800 over Ivanovic +550. We would love to say that Ana can win this match is she won’t. She certainly can, anybody can, but after being scared to be number one and dropping way down in the rankings she has settled into a comfortable position for her in the top 15. She is very happy making millions staying out of the spotlight and losing the Quarterfinals. Serena is an animal and only wants to win; it’s time for Ana to go home.

In the other Quarter, we expected surprises but not these two Italian players. Sara Errani -125 is playing Roberta Vinci +105. Errani has had better results this year and should pull this out, but both players will be scared to win and make their first Open Semifinal. This match goes 3 sets and who knows who wins. Probably the person that is more frightened will hand it to the other, because nether player is ready to step up and win it on their own.

We are calling up America's Bookie and betting Berdych +2.5 sets -135 and Cilic +2.5 sets +105. Both of those are very solid bets as they each will win at least one set.
