Under the Bridge – Tuesday Two Team Parlay

Sometimes I like to decide on a title for my articles before I write them so I can get a feel for it in hopes the words will flow. I’m having a look at today’s schedules to see what I like and where I can make us some money and the UNDER in two games jump out at me. The lyrics to one of my favorite Red Hot Chili Peppers songs instantly pops in my head, Under the Bridge and as I’m humming it, I realize how closely it relates to my life as a sports better…here’s a few lines to sum it up…

Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge downtown
I could not get enough
Under the bridge downtown
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge downtown
I gave my life away

In sports betting, like any other addiction you just can’t get enough. Even if you’re riding a hot streak and watched your account grow to the point that you’re getting money sent to you, you believe there is more; you’re never quite satisfied. The same can be said if it feels like you haven’t won in months…you’re searching for that high to make you feel “normal” again. Let’s get to the action and help us feed that hunger!

We’ll start this parlay with the Ottawa Senators (10-5-2-3, 8-12 ATS, 8-12 O/U) visiting the Dallas Stars (17-4-0-0, 13-8 ATS, 10-11 0/U) at American Airlines Center. The Stars are maybe the surprise of the NHL’s first quarter, leading the Western Conference and tied for the overall league lead with 34 points.

Dallas is getting it done on both sides of the ice, ranking number two in goals for with 3.52/game and seventh in goals against with 2.38. The Stars have 7 players with 10 or more points, being led by Tyler Seguin with 19 assists and 30 points while Jamie Benn leads the team with 14 goals. Goaltending duties have been split pretty much down the middle, with both Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi sporting a sub-2.42 GAA and .916 and above save percentage.

The Ottawa Senators are enjoying some success this season as well, scoring 2.9 goals per game, good for seventh in the league, but lack the defense same prowess as the Stars allowing the 20th most goals/game at 2.7. They are currently second in the East. Defenseman Erik Karlsson leads the Sens in assists (17) and points (22) while Kyle Turris has 10 goals to lead his team.

The Golden State Warriors (15-0, 10-5 ATS, 7-8 O/U) have a shot at history in the second part of our parlay as they host the hapless Los Angeles Lakers (2-11, 4-9-0 ATS, 4-9-0 O/U). The Warriors are the third team to start the season with 15 consecutive wins and will pass the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and 1993-94 Houston Rockets if they can win tonight.

The Warriors (114.5 PPG) have averaged almost 5 more points/game than number two Oklahoma City Thunder (109.8) to start the season, almost 10 whole points more than the Eastern Conference scoring leaders Cleveland Cavaliers (104.9). Having said that, the Lakers are scoring at a pace of only 98.2 PPG.

If 37-year-old Kobe Bryant can have an out-of-body experience and relive his 20’s, the Lakers may score 90+ points, but I doubt it. Experts like those at America’s Bookie currently have the Warriors a 17-point favorite with the number at 214. In our puck action, the total is set at 5½. Take the UNDER in both of these games for a winning two team parlay.
