UFC on FX 3 Odds & Picks

• Demetrious Johnson -140 vs. Ian McCall +120

Demetrious Johnson (14-2-1) will be fighting Ian McCall (11-2-1) in the main event. This is a flyweight fight and it’s a rematch due to the fact that these two had a draw at UFC on FX 2 against each other. McCall is very tough and proved that last time when he fought Demetrious, but I’m going to bet on Johnson. Demetrious has done well in the UFC minus one loss against Dominick Cruz and I think he’ll be able to get the job done this weekend against McCall finally.

• Erick Silva -170 vs. Charlie Brenneman +150

Erick Silva (13-2) is favoured to beat Charlie Brenneman (15-3) this weekend at UFC on FX 3. Brenneman has quietly gone 4-2 in the UFC since 2010 and his only two losses were against Anthony Johnson and Johny Hendricks. Silva lost his last fight against Carlo Prater due to a DQ and I think Silva will get back in the win column. Brenneman has a chance to shine in front of a big crowd at UFC on FX 3, but Silva is an excellent MMA fighter that I think will win by submission or decision.

• Scott Jorgensen -210 vs. Eddie Wineland +160

Scott Jorgensen (13-5) lost his last UFC fight against Renan Pegado by decision. Eddie Wineland (18-8-1) is 0-2 in the UFC and he needs a win badly or else he’s going to be out the door soon. Wineland came over from WEC and lost to Faber and Benavidez already. Jorgensen doesn’t have too much power, but he gets the job done with his relentless attack. I think Wineland will be able to upset Jorgensen. Wineland has to give everything he has got and he has power to KO Jorgensen.

• Mike Pyle -185 vs. Josh Neer +160

Mike Pyle (22-8-1) is a submission expert and that could pose some problems for Neer. Josh Neer (33-10-1) has been submitted 4 times in his career and Pyle will be looking to make it 5. Neer is on a 6-fight win streak including a 2-0 UFC record. Neer just beat Ludwig by technical submission and is a live underdog at UFC on FX 3. I’m going to bet on Neer, but I’m definitely a bit worried about Neer getting submitted against Pyle.

The main card should be pretty good this weekend at UFC on FX 3. The flyweight fight is highly anticipated as these two drew last time they fought. Both fighters want to get the win and it will be a great fight to end the night. The other fights have some familiar names, but none of the fighters are at the top of their game.
