Tuesday Morning Quarterback Week 5

THINGS WE LEARNED-

Drew Brees is one of the all-time greats. Not only has he broken two of the hallmark records in NFL history(consecutive games with a TD Pass, single season passing yards), but he has done it unbelievable class. The Saints might not be having the season they wanted thus far, but with Brees behind center anything is possible and the team and its wonderful fans know just how lucky they are.

The Atlanta Falcons are going to be truly tough to beat in the NFC. While they didn't look “Super” all the time against a gritty and undermanned Redskins team, when the most important moments come up in a football game, this team knows what to do. That is a characteristic of all Super Bowl Champions bar none.

The Arizona Cardinals might have started the season 4-0, but looked silly on the road at an improving St Louis Rams team. Now they will have to deal with rookie Rb Ryan Williams being out for the season, another hit for an offense that at times looks completely inept.

Debate prep is more important then watching football all weekend President Obama.

THINGS WE STILL WANT TO KNOW-

Are the Ravens good enough to win the AFC? This is a team that can look as good as any, but can also look like a struggle bus when they face a defense that is aggressive towards Joe Flacco and the Ravens zone blocking scheme. If they want to be considered one of the NFL's best they are going to have to show consistently that they can score.

Is Green Bay simply just not that good of a team this season. The Colts had heavy hearts and dug deep to honor their ailing coach and Andrew Luck had an early career statement game, which was special to see. The bottom line though is that last year Green Bay looked like a team from a video game that could do no wrong, this year they look like a shadow of last years squad and their schedule only gets tougher.

How much longer can Philly go with Mike Vick? The Eagles loss at Pittsburgh wasn't a bad one, but when your QB is a main reason for it with a late fumble and has generally struggled all season long, head coach Andy Reid won;t be able to keep defending Vick after each loss.

Is there life on Mars? My heart says yes, but my head still needs to watch Mars Attacks and The Red Planet a few more times.

PARSLEY,SAGE,ROSEMARY AND PIGSKIN-

Listen Chiefs fans, you have long been considered some of the best and classiest in the NFL. You truly tarnished that legacy on Sunday as you cheered when your own QB Matt Cassel got hurt. I know things have been tough recently in KC, but the absolute worst thing a fan can do is actually cheer when one of your own gets hurt. The same players that fight each and every week for you, sweat and bleed for you. This is no way to honor the legacy of greats like Hank Stram and Lamar Hunt, who if they were still alive would be devastated by your actions.

EARLY LOOK AT WEEK 8 NFL BETTING VALUE (CURRENT LINES AS OF TUESDAY MORNING) Rated on a 1-5 Bagel and Locks system

Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles- (Eagles -5.5 Total 47.5)- Lions come off a bye after a brutal starts to the season and know that this is a season make or break type of game. The Eagles were stung by Pittsburgh last week and will come into this game angry but likely tight as well. Look for the Lions to use the extra prep time to keep this game close throughout and an outright win would not be surprising.

Play – 3.4 Bagels on the LIONS

New York Giants at San Francisco 49'ers (Niners -6 Total 45.5) -

The Niners are showing us they are as close to unstoppable of a team as we have seen in recent years. The loss to the Vikings doesn't even look that bad as Minny is going to be tough this year. When S.F has their ground game going they are scary good as they not only can control the ball on offense, but with the best D in the NFL can make life miserable for whoever they play , whether they are the defending champs or not:)

Play – 3.5 Bagels on the NINERS

Green Bay Packers at Houston Texans-Sun Night (Texans -5 Total 48) – Houston is the most complete team in the NFL and while their win on Monday night at the Jets was closer then they would have liked, The Jets threw everything they had at them and it still wasn't enough. Houston is the type of team that if healthy might not lose more than a game or two all season long and with a struggling Packers team coming into town for a prime time game, this won't be one of them.

Play- 4 Bagels on the TEXANS
