TCU Horned Frogs Season Odds
How will the TCU Horned Frogs handle the pressure of the Big 12 Conference this year? Here is a look at their odds.
TCU joins West Virginia as the two new teams in the Big 12 this year. It will be a big jump in competition for TCU, as they haven't lost a conference game in their last three years as part of the Mountain West Conference.
According to the oddsmakers at America's Bookie, TCU has +8500 odds to win the BCS National Championship, but they have just +450 odds to win the Big 12 Championship in their first year in the conference.
The Horned Frogs return 11 starters and although that doesn't sound like much, they do have a lot of offensive talent back, including the top five rushers and top three receivers from last year. Junior quarterback Casey Pachall will lead the offense, he threw for 2,921 yards and 25 touchdowns last year and has been given +1500 odds to win this year's Heisman Trophy.
When it comes to the defense, the team has just five starters back, with three of those starters coming on the defensive line. Defensive end Stansly Maponga had nine sacks last season and is back for his junior year to lead the unit. As a team, TCU scored 40.8 points per game while allowing just 21.5 points per game last year. Both were drops from the previous year and those numbers will likely drop again in the Big 12.
