Seahawks and 49ers battle for first place in the NFC West
First place in the NFC West will be on the line when the Seahawks visit the 49ers on Thursday Night Football. According to the oddsmakers at America's Bookie, the 49ers are 7-point favorites and the total is set 37½.
Quarterback Russell Wilson is coming off one of the best games of his career, as he led the Seahawks from a 13-point, fourth quarter deficit to beat the Patriots 24-23. Wilson threw for 293 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The rookie signal-caller has struggled on the road though, posting a 60.3 passer rating (6.4 yards per pass attempt, two touchdowns, six interceptions).
The 49ers want to continue their dominance against their division. They have won their last 10 home games against division opponents (9-1 ATS), outscoring their opponents 82-24 in three games under Jim Harbaugh last season.
Getting ready for a road game on a short week can be a problem for the Seahawks. Road teams have had a hard time preparing for Thursday night games this season and the Seahawks will also have to deal with a very angry 49ers team that got demolished 26-3 at home against the Giants last Sunday.
The 49ers have proven that they can rebound well after a big loss. They're 32-15-4 ATS in their last 51 games after a loss of more than 14 points and 21-8-3 ATS in their last 32 home games.
I don't see Russell Wilson duplicating his great effort from last week against a much tougher 49ers secondary. Also keep in mind that the Seahawks are 18-37-2 ATS in their last 57 road games. Take the 49ers -7 at home.
